Loved Guillermo's response to who was going to play Bilbo. I bet its going to get old real fast being asked that question if it hasn't already. I think Guillermo should have a cameo in the film as either a Hobbit or a Dwarf. If he did a dwarf that would definitely make him appreciate the pain the dwarf actors will probably have to endure with the prosthetics and might lead to more comfortable makeup for them. *evil laugh*

Once again - you're such a treasure! *snicker* GDT as Bilbo? Nice joke! And it would be much better than Daniel Radcliffe!

"Guillermo del Toro will be directing, with Peter Jackson as producer. The two filmmakers 'plan' two movies, with the first most likely to contain The Hobbit story, while the second film will focus on events and characters at some point in the 60 year gap between TH and Fellowship of the Rings. Sir Ian McKellen will be returning as Gandalf, and Andy Serkis as Gollum. Guillermo will also be taking on a role in front of the camera, having cast himself as Bilbo, announced today on ITN. Del Toro has said he will draw upon Kenneth Brannagh's shirtless performances for inspiration. Christopher Tolkien is said to be cantankerous and is reportedly appalled by this latest casting information."
Okay, lets start propagating this misinformation across the internet. Here's hoping the Times Online picks it up.

It would be geek delight to see both Guillermo and Peter do a cameo ... something special for the EE's - both him and Peter - I would be in stitches to see a very serious moment in a scene - and in the background have Producer and Director run around with their shirts over their heads as if they'd just score a goal in the Soccer World Cup - and then run off screen - without letting the actors know about it ... bwahahaha!! *falls off chair* Cheers Elven x

But I'd love to see that too. Seeing the outtakes and stuff is almost as good as seeing the film. I hope there will be a lot of extras still for future anniversary LOTR DVD releases BTW. I enjoyed seeing the clips of PJ and others rehearsing scenes in the parts of the characters. That was fun too. I have not seen the Hellboy extras. Anyone know if they are a lot of fun?

Guillermo would never cast Kenneth Branagh (And it´s not Branner, Branaugh or Brannagh LOL) he don´t like him. What an irony I am the only one who can spell a foreign last name correctly XD Being a foreigner XD I wouldn´t mind at all to see a shirtless Balin or Thorin (Other role I like for Branagh) LOL Gosh, the Frankie- shirtless thing was quite good by the way, but it will never happens again!!! From that moment, you knew he wasn't saying anything about it. It'd be great if he played a hobbit, even as a cameo.
"WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN" Did you ever wish certain moments from LOTR could've made it to the screen? Have you ever imagined what would have happened if all of the original writings from the script actually made it to the films? Well, "What Could Have Been" is the right discussion for you! Starting this summer will be a series of topics about what could have been in "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy". Be on the lookout, and be sure to join in on the fun!

James McAvoy..... not a terrible a actor, but NOT BILBO! I'll say it again: JAMES McAVOY WOULD NOT MAKE A GOOD BILBO. I caps'd and bolded that so that if someone has something to say otherwise, they can. James is a sexy actor. Good for shirtless men (or fauns). Bilbo is a clumsy, pudgy, cute hobbit. Or at least thats how I picture him. I feel James would play Bilbo wrong, and just doesn't look like a Bilbo. He does not have that hobbit feeling to him. So all I have left to say is, PLEASE DON'T PICK HIM MR. DEL TORO! Is this what it was like when rumors about Frodo and Aragorn and the fellowship casting were floating around in 1999?
Have you hugged your hobbit today? For pony

everyone "knew" that Sean Connery was playing Gandalf. People were reporting sightings of him in Wellington, it was all over the net and in many news stories. They also knew that Faramir and Eowyn were going to be played by Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. Denethor or Theoden (reports varied) was going to be played by Donald Sutherland. So yes, this is normal, but the rumor mill is just getting started. There will be lots more to come, and 95% of it will have no basis in fact. The next couple of years will be fun.
Silverlode "Of all faces those of our familiares are the ones both most difficult to play fantastic tricks with, and most difficult really to see with fresh attention. They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them. Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. The gems all turn into flowers or flames, and you will be warned that all you had (or knew) was dangerous and potent, not really effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you." -On Fairy Stories

Peter Jackson is! The reason he's NOT directing is because HE'S been cast as Bilbo! I mean, he's already played the part brilliantly for the eedvd special features ;)
