That's quite a spectacular picture of the Aurora, but fitting together all those different shades of greens and blues - that's challenging!

before the critters feel compelled to nibble those plants in the dead of winter! With snow on the ground, your furry friends must appreciate having a warm house and hearth. (And human to snuggle up to!)

Well, trimming and weed pulling, I guess. Still, garden maintenance still gets you outdoors and into sunshine (hopefully). Our family went to giving each other gift cards long ago. By now we all know the 'range' of places each person liked cards from, and they get to pick out exactly what they want. It also makes the shopping quick and easy. But, good on you for getting yours done! Have a great week!!

The rainy weekend was just what we needed: an excuse to do nothing for a couple of days and rest. I agree, and the companies don't realize how much goodwill they lose from existing employees when they discard people like used furniture.

At least, like you said, you have fun things to do to keep you busy indoors. What kind of soup did you make? It's not rainy here, but it's starting to get a bit nippy, so soup sounds good!

Good grief! I'll bet your feet were sore. Funny how you don't notice it at the time, when you're having so much fun. Glad to hear you had a great weekend and that work wasn't too bad last week. Hope this week is likewise!

Well, exciting about your book and writing group, that is. Not so exciting about your cold. Hopefully you got this season's cold out of the way and you'll breeze through the rest of the cold/flu season. Hope you had a nice weekend of R&R before the busy next weeks!

Wow. Congrats on making so much outdoor progress this weekend. Gotta love the wildlife, but *not* while they're munching away at your garden and landscaping. Yes, B.G and I naively thought we could call a landscaper in June or July and have something done this year. Small projects, yes, but bigger ones take loads of design, planning, permit applications, etc. So, we're actually cementing our spot to be one of their first priorities this coming Spring. Eggnog? Now you're talking. It's that time of year. *clinks glass and wipes eggnog mustache off* Have a wonderful week m'dear!

Always nice to log back in and see some familiar names :) Yes, I have had huge happy grins throughout this "digging". SO many good songs he made into covers that suit me (that is are more metal and rock). And quite a lot of songs I have loathed or hated for decades (mostly since they either are in genres I do not love or were WAY overplayed in the radios and shops in the 90s) he has made covers of which I love and really listen and relisten to again and again :) (that playlist is steadily growing)

Any conversation that starts with "good cooks" has got my attention BIG TIME! What did you take? My Mom always had great selections to take for such gatherings. Me...I burn water! ;) It's always so awesome to have a good time with food, people, and happiness :D I hope the rest of your week has been as uplifting :D Watch out for any snow!

I'm so glad you're feeling great enough to tackle the winter-worn garden :D I hope the weather is cooperating. Avoid the housework whenever possible... that's my motto! And it shows ;) My immediate family has had a pledge for over 25 years NOT to buy presents for each other. None of us could really afford to get gifts for each other when the kids were younger... so we agreed to save purchases for the kids/g'kids. The "grownups" *winkie-wink* would watch for fun little somethings at yard sales, craft sales, or make things ourselves. We're sticking to that even now since my kids have families to do for. So I'm watching all year long for presents that (hopefully) really speak to each of my targets. Now... birthdays are different I just sent my eldest who is turning 55 a "Birthday in a Box" packed with a few presents. Including a selection of colouring books and a box of crayons ;)O Yeah. Like you, I do try to get as much done as possible ahead of time. *high five*

I'm sorry.... you totally threw me out of my chair telling about getting a shot IN YOUR EYE! *swoon, kerplunk*.......... ok... I'm so impressed! Dealing with a retinal bleed is beyond incredible! I'm so glad it wasn't too bad and that you're ready for the next 2 month's injections. Please just remind me to NEVER let eyeballs bleed! *shiver* The kind of clutter you have with the yarn and sewing projects is totally awesome! Just don't open the door! :D Does your group have a theme this year? Have a great time... and I hope your vision is easy-good for the intensive use those craft projects will be demanding :) *Big Hug*

They would never have approached you if they didn't believe you had another book in ya! WELL DONE and good luck! I hear you on the being busy after retirement. I'd be a real study in time management. There are just too many shiny objects in my realm to stay focused. ;) Oh, I hope you're feeling better. Are you able to taste food again? When I get hit, the first warning sign is my food starts tasting funny (more than usual ;) I'm glad you were able to tackle a puzzle in some quiet before the hammer falls on your action. Hang in there and Enjoy the Group! :D

If you like Dolly Parton (I did not), watch Tommy Johansson's metal cover of her 9 to 5. I find that one awesome! And so fun! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YsQlG1WVOw&pp=0gcJCQwKAYcqIYzv Many of his Christmas-y covers from 2022 are really very very funny. He has a whole playlist of them, having made an advent calender where he each day from the 1st to the 24th of December posted a new cover video. Some are very swedish either language wise or cultural wise (Say Mama does not make sense to many outside Sweden familiar with the Swedish tradition of watching Donald Duck and pretty much the same playlist of Disney Films apart from 1-2 new EVERY Christmas Eve at 15:00). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezOwwKPQe84&list=PL2S11OWZHdmnDnnC0_Dz8ahUBbAgragb8 And he included everything in those which to him meant Christmas so be prepared for some surprises :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-bnQyTGo9s&list=PL2S11OWZHdmnDnnC0_Dz8ahUBbAgragb8&index=10 was the actual start of the series, posted on the 1st of December 2022.

All good here for the most part. Thankfully it was a steady rain that never got too intense, so I think it did the area some good. It sounds like the water reservoirs around the state are looking very full too.
