Greetings, everyone! Well, we're still being attacked by those nasty internet bots - over 20,000 at a time sometimes - which means the boards have been a little cranky - very slow at times, then suddenly fast again when the bots move on and leave us alone. Once again hoping Corvar will be able to work some more magic over the weekend. Fingers crossed! Until then, what have you been up to? It's a bit more chilly here and supposed to stay that way for a few days, so good thing we didn't put away those turtlenecks and sweaters! Let us know how things are in your corner of the globe. And, don't forget to visit the yummy buffet and order up your favorite drink! *puts quarters on juke box* play us something quick and lively to hopefully keep the bots away and inspire the boards to move faster! Have an amazing weekend, everyone!!

The Boards are on-and-off slow, here - crossing fingers and toes that Corvar can get a lockdown on the 'bots! Could I have a tall iced mocha, please? It's in the 70's here and sunny, so I've been out doing a bit of weeding and taking slugs off the rhubarb. Son and I had a "game day" on a rainy day earlier this week, it took us only 5 hours to Terraform Mars - yes, with all its event cards and resource manipulation and trading on various moons, there's a lot of strategy, but it is fun! Unless your opponent crashes the moon Deimos (which destroys all the plants you've collected - each time you collect 8, you can plant a forest). He didn't! But I did get both the Pets and Venusian Animals cards, which collect tokens for points at the end. He did win, but not by much. Let's see what I can find for music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGtQMT-QLgc

I wonder how long before someone of the human race utters those words. It does sound like fun with the strategy and all. Better than dealing with slugs, ewwww! Iced mocha coming up, and perfect song! Happy weekend!!

I often wonder why the bots' masters would want to hang out in our little corner of paradise? Nasty boogers! Maybe let things speed up as they knew it was Fiesta time and they were thirsty? We had our first tornado in a long time (spinning kind, not sibbie kind ;) last night from about 8pm to 3am. We missed the real thing by about 40 miles south of us, but the massive thunder and lightning show hit full-on along with a sauna-like heat and humidity spike! I had one lightning globe-like flash right at my front door that was open... but I was thankfully about 8 feet away in the interior. It flashed, CRACKED like a gun firing, and I knew the boom was coming! I slowly counted to 4 as the whole house shook like an actual earthquake. The floor trembled, the walls and ceiling were noticeably moving and stuff fell off the shelves and rattled in the cupboard! Not a tornado, just the concussion of the bolt & thunder. Shortly after... Pickle, kitties, my laptop and I moved into the basement ;) I live as an island in open farm fields, so anytime a tornado or high winds come along, I catch it with both barrels! Thirty minutes later, the storm passed and left behind a gentle rain with some flag-flapping wind. Today is blue sky, comfy temps and brisk wind. Inspection outside showed all trees still standing (not hit by the lightning) and no damage to the house. THANK GOODNESS! Needless to say, I'm still up as sleep passed me by. Daughter had an out-of-town appt this morning to get her outer ears acupunctured! She gets it about once a week and it helps her have feeling return to her arms and hands... as well as overall comfort. Thanks for taking such great care of us, Altaira! Have a great weekend everyone! :D *grabs a pink lemonade and oatmeal cookie*

For Son and you to spend the day hanging out and playing games just has me smiling like a fool! Do you have some bowls or plates of snacks to give you energy until it's dinner time? How considerate for the rain to come just at a time when the two of you were available for some proper gaming! Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

Earlier today I was wondering if I'd even be able to *do* Fiesta, it was going so slow. Like you said, hopefully it will last. And, also like you said - have a great weekend!

A good thunderstorm show is one thing, life-threatening wind, nearby lightening, and a deluge of rain is quite another. I'm so glad you and the critters are okay. Good idea to move to the basement! I've never had acupuncture, but am very curious about it as it does seem to work so well for many people. Excellent that it helps your daughter. Get some sleep and enjoy the (hopefully quiet) weather over the weekend.

*queries Google* O.M.G. I had no idea such a thing existed. And I can totally see how it could spark stories of faerie and angels.
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. It's a road trip day today: past Rivendell, but no time to stop, unfortunately; over misty mountains; then down into a valley of little rivers, sheep and cows - ie, New Zealand in a day. Husband will be coming home after ten days of family and business in Europe, so there is apple pie waiting for him. It's too long a trip for me anymore, I reckon, so I'll just keep making the pies and have the tea ready. Gotta go. Have a nice fiesta! Liss

Happy weekend, everyone, and hope you all have nice things in store. I'll be cat-sitting for a friend, and though I'm more of a dog-guy, I'm making an exception. (And the cat sorta thinks it's a dog anyway, so it all works out.)

Fingers crossed Corvar can work some more magic! We had a brief heatwave last weekend, followed by sun and mid-70s during the work week. Now we're heading back to a chillier weekend, with a warmup next week. Just enough change to make you keep a sweater handy in case you need it. A quiet week in our neck of the woods - I find the first two weeks post-travel are always muddy in terms of time going by. We have dinner with a cousin tonight and a first communion to attend on Sunday, otherwise I think it'll be a movies + reading kind of weekend, in between walks. I also tried to get tickets for the upcoming Lorde (the Kiwi popstar) tour this Fall, but found myself behind 118k people for the pre-sale and another 10k today for the general audience sale. Long story short, I did not get a ticket this week, lol. Very glad so many people are interested, though - those numbers are just for the show I was looking to attend! Wishing everyone a happy weekend!

I saw baseball games in Philadelphia and Baltimore were postponed, but didn't see much news beyond that to know how widespread it was. Sounds like a fun game day, even if it didn't go your way!

Glad the main storm missed you, but even being on the edges is always scary. There's something terrifyingly beautiful to me about the day after a storm like that. The sunshine and clouds look extra bright and beautiful, like the world is telling you it can be both bliss and misery at a moment's notice. Glad the trees were ok! Fingers crossed you get some normal weather for awhile. Have a great weekend!

is that we didn't break for lunch - just hopped up for a sandwich or so while it was the other person's turn! And supper was just planned-overs (a two-night taco casserole), so no need to pause for cooking. Of course, I kept my coffee cup filled, gotta be alert in this game!

seemed to go south of us, but we did get some nice downpours over a few days. And the final score was my 141 to his 162 - VERY close, for this game, and very high also! I've never gotten higher than him, he has excellent gaming strategy, but this is my highest score ever, so I'm pleased!

A ball lightning, right at your door? How scary - and exciting, at the same time! Good thinking to take the laptop along with you and the furry friends into the cellar for safety. And yes, thank goodness there was no damage! It's amazing how nerve ends are all related in some way! Does she have massage therapy as well? (I began it years ago when what I thought might be carpal tunnel turned out to be knots in my upper back muscles. My massage therapist works in the same office as an acupuncturist, so I know she'll recommend that if she sees a need for it.) Have a relaxing weekend, gramma, and get some sleep!

It's strange, the "Who's Online" is showing over 24K "guests" but I'm having no issues with posting. Typical May, a series of warm-cool-warm weather, nope, keep those sweaters out! Sorry you could not get tickets to see Lorde, although I am wondering how many of those were swept up by 'bots for resale, is there any way you can check?
