of strawbs left, but at this time of year they feel like even more of a treat! Our mild climate means weeds and pests last all year round, but it certainly has its upsides, too, in the long seasons.

Such a sweet little face. [In reply to] Can't Post

Fingers crossed that Koala starts doing better soon - she's certainly getting lots of love and care.

Pastry cream! [In reply to] Can't Post

Instead of the standard confectioner-sugar frosting - what a delicious idea! Smile

yep and yep [In reply to] Can't Post

The wood is all VERY dry and all hardwoods and so fire friendly. But I'd rather build than burn. And yes one of them is what fell by the driveway (GREAT MEMORY!). A lot of that tree is still standing but getting ready to fall. It has rotted clean through so you can see sky out the other side. *sniffle* One of my 2 Sugar Maples.

WOW! That was some storm! I guess the season didn't want you to forget it too soon ;) I'm glad you were able to fix the roof (TWICE) and that your babies didn't get hurt.

Have a wonderful weekend... and STAY SAFE!

5-days later... [In reply to] Can't Post

And Koala is doing much better :) She finally left the protective collar on (looks like a travel neck/head rest) except g'son says she's laying "over there" and just glaring at him. I suggested it meant she was feeling much better and focusing her attention on him and her disgust rather than her owie ;)

THAT is a really creepy Gollum! [In reply to] Can't Post

Alas, our Peeps are all consumed...but then, I'd bought just a small pack.

Did you pick up any candy for Easter, gramma? And good to know that Koala is recovering nicely! Are your furry friends happy that the warmer weather is here?

Really lost track of time here... [In reply to] Can't Post

it's really interesting hearing about people's seasonal experiences, regardless of hemispere! It's a good spring for blossom here; I just hope it's a good spring for pollinators too. I had a pleasant and not too self-indulgent Easter, for which - to a certain extent! - I had the family dog to thank. On arrival at my daughter's house for elevenses (then lunch) I was greeted with, 'DON'T say hello to the dog!' He was in disgrace. Apparently she'd just left the living room for a moment and returned to find him tearing the packaging off the neat little box of 12 quality mini-eggs and managing to snaffle two before being chased away. Little so-and-so! No adverse effects to him, only to my gift. It was funny watching my grandsons (14 &12) welcome their little cousin (7); the older one was slouching around in his 'My Chemical Romance' teeshirt, studded belt etc - and bunny ears. It's a very 'in-between' age!
In other news, due to my painful shoulder, I dropped a plastic bottle of milk with about 3 pints in it, while trying to put it back in the fridge a couple of days ago. Boy, that stuff spreads! Cue deep-clean of that section of the kitchen, and a trip to the local shop for more milk. Hmph...
We don't have Peeps over here, which seems a shame; they look very cute! What fun seeing them dressed up! Have a good week, folks - cheers!

Fortunately, no adverse effects! [In reply to] Can't Post

Chocolate is not supposed to be good for dogs, he's a lucky pup - ah well, at least ten of the eggs were saved for you!

Yep, the 14-year-old is definitely acting his age. Laugh

Sorry to hear about the milk, the extra pain is that you had to get down on the floor and clean it all up!

What, no marshmallow Peeps over there? Shocked I wonder if we could send you some, if they'd get through Customs...(Twenty years ago we visited London and Edinburgh, found some canned haggis when we went to a local grocery and tried bringing it back as a joke gift for a friend...US Customs confiscated it, apologized profusely, while we were laughing about haggis not being allowed entry into the country! Laugh)

Nasty Pupsesss... [In reply to] Can't Post

Although quite the opportunist! ;) I love it when they "ignore" foodstuff within reach as they watch for the first chance to snag whatever they can!!! Pretty smart for being so dumb! I can imagine the drama when busted!

I am so sorry about your shoulder... and even more sorry for the milky mess. Now I would have given out an impressive BELLOW before starting to clean it up. I'm sure that involved the same hurt shoulder. *big hug* I hope it heals up very soon.

You can make some Peeps. Just grab the biggest marshmallow you can find and roll it in come coloured sugar. Good for your teeth and no calories ;)

Hang in there!
