RE: launching a "dart" (2 meters long, not the handheld little things in bars and pubs). Too often videos of this kind have a short-attention span person who tries something, fails, and then declares it historically impossible. This guy was smart enough to ask around on why he failed, and then learned to make it work. Anyway, I'll go back to watching it now. I love this reenactment stuff. I hope someone gives me my very own backyard trebuchet for Xmas. (plus some glass-reinforced gaffer tape).
