Striders reaction to the Hobbits in Bree Can't Post

Its never really mentioned in the text, but I sometimes wonder what went through Striders' mind when encountering the rather naive Hobbits in Bree with their behaviour. Did he put his head in his hands and think, 'Mithrandier, this is another fine mess you have got me into!'

I think he was well aware of Hobbits and their behaviors having been around them [In reply to] Can't Post

in Bree and more covertly in the wild with the Dunedain keeping a watch on the area. He was well aware of the danger posed by the strange men coming up from the south and Bill Ferny. The book account is very different from the movie so if we are talking about the book it is Merry who brings word of the Nazgul. Oddly, they stay in the Prancing Pony parlour rather than their rooms with Strider propped against the door.

Strider had even seen the Hobbits with Tom Bombadil and had discussed things with Gildor Inglorion. So, the Hobbits thought they were alone but were under observation for much of their journey.

Now, movie scene.....well, any plans Strider had were blown by Pippin and Frodo setting in motion urgent changes and movements.
