Says he's reluctant to go out in case he gets bumped. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/...Y3ZGKJP2AFDBVT54VD4/
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. Fantasy novel - The Arcanist's Tattoo My LOTR fan-fiction

Stating the obvious (and experienced), even someone who has seen fewer winters would be challenged with a chipped vertebrae let alone a fractured wrist. But the bones and joints just don't behave like they used to when he was a spry 60yo running across Middle-earth (and NZ) when filming LotR then in his 70s for The Hobbit. And his shoulder pain could partly be his rotator cuffs (joints) where there are bunches of tendons, muscles, and cartilage going on. Those would have been wrenched and ripped if he at all tried to catch himself. The healing can also result from scar tissue around the joint. I've got a bit of that going on (past 20 yrs), so it takes a while to address. I hope the pain subsides soon. I'm thinking the stagnation is as painful to him as the physical hurts. Thanks for the update :)
