It's funny how life evolves - I probably spend as much time on TORn now as I ever did, but it's just not at the message boards any more! Too much 'work' stuff to do for posts and events! Not that I'm complaining - I love how TORn is such a part of my life. And that includes dear friends such as you and BG! Cheers to you both!

That RenFaire was a perfect place for TORnsibs to gather, I'm so glad we all went and had a great time together! Do you remember the full-day Trilogy at the cinema in Rhode Island? By the way, did you know that not-so-young-anymore Master Sil got married this past weekend? Imagine sil and Mrs. sil all decked out in formal duds! *raises champagne flute* It's lovely to see you again here on the Boards, it's been a while!

Even getting only one other person to show up, that took half the load off you - and you showed them who's the boss, so to speak! Congratulations! But sewer problems...yecch. Do you have a separate septic system, or does the pipe feed into the town sewage system? Oh! Did you wear a genuine Bollywood-type costume to the event?

Even being pedal-powered, it looks a lot safer than that four-bike catamaran (and are they still afloat?). Perthshire - isn't that the Loch Ness area?

Probably the best night of sleep you've had in years. Glad you're on the other side, despite all of the ridiculousness it took to get there. That's too bad about the plumbing, I hope it gets sorted sooner than later and doesn't become a dragged out thing that causes stress. And hope the party was fun!

Especially if they are your idea! But even those that suddenly appear can be very awesome. Not trips planned here for the near future. I'm hoping to visit my Baltimore family this fall. I'm so glad you're having some great weather to enjoy. Michigan is having a nice little spread of very pleasant days, too. I finally got started on some of my weeding. It's been a week with some drama. I got a haircut. A BUNCH of hairs cut! It was down to almost my shoulder blades, and I got... what was supposed to be... a modified bob (following jawline--at collar) layered all the way to the top so I could scrunch and munch for some fun. I have VERY straight, fine, thin hair with bangs... so this style should play along with that personality and not fight with trying to get it to style against what it wants to do. It ended up being too short and it couldn't find my jaw line but landed on the ears. *sigh* Thankfully, it will grow out; but I'm having to mess with it more than I wanted. I'm used to taming it all with a ponytail or clipped up. BOOM... out the door! Not now, though. I'm really lazy ;) But it is a lot faster to shampoo and get dry! Other than that, all is well and progressing. My daughter starts OT and PT this week, so each day will be going here and there for various appointments atop those she's already doing... but it's all good! All pointing in a "getting healed" direction :D Hope everyone has a great weekend/week... and thanks for taking such great care of us, Altaira! :)

They've been having very mild to no wind so the pedal-powered are doing well. No, Loch Ness is in the Highlands. Perthshire is basically at the center of Scotland.

It will, eventually, grow out! But sometimes I do wonder what the hairdresser is thinking. Your daughter is doing well heading towards full healing! OT and PT can be a pain - both literally, and because it has to be done daily - do you know how many weeks it may take? Didn't that weeding just sneak up on us! As soon as I do one patch, another is overgrown. Is Pickle having lots of outdoor fun? Hey, I just realized, Thursday is the Solstice, we're about to head into Summer!

Happy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomsday Bloomsday, all! We've been celebrating with Leopold's gorgonzola sandwich on homemade soda bread, washed down with a nice Pinot Noir, and reminiscing about our lovely visit to Dublin a few years back, which included a self-guided "Ulysses" walking tour. Magical memories. With travelling, the planning is a large chunk of the fun, and the memories are another large chunk. Not that we have any big trips planned, but we do have a lot of great memories. We had a warm, sunny first half of the day, then the temperature plummeted and the rain arrived - serves me right for hanging out a whole lot of washing! Still, it's winter, so I really can't complain. Must dash, but I didn't want to miss Fiesta altogether. Wishing everyone a pleasant week ahead.

BOOM! HERE IT COMES! :D I love the gift your co-worker gave you. It's fortunate you're retiring at a time of year when you can REALLY enjoy it! Isn't it nice that you can pick the time of day YOU WANT to play in the yard and not try to fit it in when work gets in the way? Do you have plans for that first day of retirement? Or are you just going to enjoy NO PLANS!?! ;) Have a wonderful weekend and days off. BURN EVERY HOUR OF VACATION! You've earned every single one of them!!! Oh... Allman Bros definitely screams ROAD TRIP!

Geez that snuck up on me! PT/OT will be better able to give us an idea of how long it might take after she gets going. With her other health problems (fibro, asthma, weight, extremity numbness, etc.), they're going to have some hurdles to account for. But she's very much looking for the chance that it may help of those issues at the same time. Pickle is ALWAYS having fun! The man makes me laugh every day with his antics :D A lot of hairdressers are very good at what they do... as this one certainly is. But they do SO MANY of the same types of cuts and styling (and if you're chatting away), they become rote in what they do. Especially if they're busy. One small snip at the wrong spot... even if they suddenly become aware of what they did.... they have to go with it and match the rest of the cut to that. They also tend to not refer back to the pics when they move from one phase of the cut to the next.

... BUT WHY do they have to be so chaotic in coming to these decisions?! Not just the chaos, but depleting confidence and trust along the way! How is this incomplete decision supposed to be trusted since it seems to be in flux still? I trust your gut-instinct on how this is working out; but geez... the anxiety of not knowing is such a waste of energy! Yeah... you so deserve the support and respect to receive the resources and acknowledgement you've just gotten. Here's hoping they understand your commitment, efforts, and knowledge of what this job and you need! Isn't it amazing how your "plumbing issue" reflects (imho) what you've just been through at work? ;) That's got to be a costly repair/replace project. I also have a septic/drain-field setup... and its been doing its job since 1974 when the house was built. *sigh* I hope you had a great time at the dinner :D What a fun theme!!!

and my garden is going to suffer! That can't be helped, and things will grow back in time. I'm wilting at the thought of all the pots I have to clear away in advance, canopy over the back door to remove, likewise trelllis panels etc. Still, it'll be great when it's done!

So son and I got the new plants planted and mulched, then hubby will give them a nice dousing of water after supper. The first day of retirement, it depends on the weather! But I'm going to start right in on some clutter-cleaning - especially in our cool basement. Didn't you put up some good shelving in yours a while back, gramma?
