James Gandolfini Can't Post

I am truly sad about the passing of this fine actor (maybe it's the Jersey girl in me, recognizing him in a lot of people I knew growing up). It wasn't fantasy or sci-fi, but I loved "The Sopranos," and he was excellent in "In the Loop" (if you haven't seen it, it's great). So young, with a baby, too.

So sad [In reply to] Can't Post

I consider The Sopranos the finest 86 hours of television I've ever seen, and James' portrayal of Tony Soprano was at the heart of it all. A great, great actor, and by all accounts a very kind and generous man, taken from us far too soon.

My Sam Gamgee is indeed a reflexion of the English soldier, of the privates and batmen I knew in the 1914 war, and recognized as so far superior to myself- J.R.R. Tolkien

Agreed. [In reply to] Can't Post

I didn't like the Sopranos, it was the premise and conciet of the therapist chair..

However, Gandolfini was magnificent in it and a fine actor. The irony is I always wondered if he could do a British accent, he was in my personal game of imaginery fan casting a potential Thorin.
It is a shame he died so relatively young, he was one of those actors that found his stride and talent later in life and he would have given us so many more quality perfomances.

Oh dear [In reply to] Can't Post

Unsure

What a shock. I didnt expect this. But due to his weight we shoudnt be surprised.

I am sad to hear this. He was a great actor. The Sopranos is still, for me the best television i have ever seen, purely from a writing and performance perspective.

A salute, Gandolfini.

Vous commencez à m'ennuyer avec le port!!!
