what does boromir say when the balrog appears in moria? Can't Post

I don't know what he says, never understood what he was saying, and never bothered to find out with subtitles on....Unsure
what on earth does he say?
I always thought just by hearing that he says "what is this, huge death thing?" but obviously that sounds stupid!

"fingolfin looked up in grief to see what evil morgoth had done to maedhros"

"What is this new devilry?" [In reply to] Can't Post

Tongue

"A journalist once asked me what I would like my epitaph to be and I said I think I would like it to be 'He did very little harm'. And that's not easy. Most people seem to me to do a great deal of harm. If I could be remembered as having done very little, that would suit me." ~ Paul Eddington

transcripts [In reply to] Can't Post

If you do a google search for:

transcripts fellowship of the ring

you'll get up sites that have transcribed the dialog. If it's an extended scene, you have to be sure you find one that is for that movie.

I reference them a lot. There are thee or four sites that have them.

It's a funny thing how sometimes [In reply to] Can't Post

you just get stuck and can't figure out what someone is saying. And then the more you try to work it out, the harder it gets!
One I always had trouble with was what the black rider said to Arwen at the ford in FOTR. I knew it was, "Give up the halfling," but the words after that I could never work out. As soon as I was told it was 'she-elf', it was so blindingly obvious, but I don't think I ever would have got that one.

I know people often put the subtitles on to help them with the old word or phrase they are unsure of, but I find that very distracting. I like to just ask someone around here. Wink

Lol! Do you know what I would love to see? [In reply to] Can't Post

The LOTR trilogy as it is, but with lots of swearing in the places where you can just imagine the character would like to let out a stream of expletives. It would be such fun! Laugh

Didn't you know? [In reply to] Can't Post

The Men of Gondor are Yorkshiremen! Very difficult to understand. Laugh
I had a hard time understanding what he said to Frodo, something like "It's not yours to have but by an unhappy chance" or something like that. Crazy
