Empire Magazine Confirms Jamie Campbell Bower's Role In The Rings of Power (SPOILER) Can't Post

From the TORn homepage:

Jamie Campbell Bower Revealed as Celeborn
July 22nd, 2026 by Nancy "Mithrilyn" Steinman

Quote
The announcement in an exclusive by Empire Magazine validates much fan speculation. With Bower’s ethereal quality and his ability to portray both vulnerability and strength, his casting for this role seems perfect.

Quote
Bower’s performance as Vecna in Stranger Things was nuanced and terrifying, yet he earlier portrayed a character that was both lover and fighter in the role of Jace Herondale in the film The Mortal Instrument: City of Bones. Hopefully, Bower will have the opportunity to explore all of his acting strengths in Season 3 of The Rings of Power, in his relationship with Galadriel and as a leader in the War of the Elves and Sauron.

Settled at last! [In reply to] Can't Post

I’m more-or-less indifferent to book Celeborn (the Dumb) but will be glad to see the character take his place in the RoP saga. Glorfindel fans will have to wait and hope on. Wink

I never saw Stranger Things but am glad to hear that Bowers was good in it.

As a fan of RoP, I hope Celeborn’s introduction and backstory aren’t too lame.

The Meeting [In reply to] Can't Post

Maybe they'll have him jump ship in the middle of an ocean where Galadriel happens to be fishing by coincidence. I know I'd enjoy that.

Yeah [In reply to] Can't Post

Book Celeborn isn't the most compelling character ever, the interesting stuff about him is basically all off-page, his backstory is huge, and he's very much not the 'action hero' type.

Let's hope the show can do a decent job of breathing life into the character. Simply portraying him as a 'calming influence' on Galadriel might not quite cut it.
