Season Three Premiers November 11, 2026 Can't Post

That's five months away.

Oh, joy.

Well, I'm sure you're all excited. I was enjoying the peace. Stay tuned for my posts on the matter. Season three is the first season where the writers have had a chance to fully evaluate past criticism. Let's see what they do with it to determine the tone and type of praise and criticism. I'm sure there will be some.

Yeah [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm excited. Season 2 was an improvement over the first. I'm hoping season 3 continues that trend. Since it's coming out in November, it will provide some nice holiday watching experiences for me.

When I reflect on it, Season 1 was quite possibly worse than I gave it credit for at the time, in so many ways, but with special mentions for Galbrand meeting at sea & the ludicrous mount doom explosion.

But then Season 2 was borderline excellent, IMO.

I always fail to see that [In reply to] Can't Post

Season One's main failing was that it was damn slow. Season two was...a little faster, but the increase wasn't commensurate with what one expects of a second season.

I mean, it takes the show three episodes to basically just catch us back up from season one, which is a CRAZY way to structure a show. At any segue to the Harfoot storyline, one hears the distinct squeal of the brakes on the plot, and come episode 8 that storyline (deriviative, in the Tom Bombadil scenes, to a fault of the Yoda scenes in The Empire Strikes Back) is kind of scuttled away.

At every turn, the doppleganger approach to the visuals endures, now even without the vague sense of the legitimacy that the New Zealand crew lent to the audiovisual pastiche.
