First Lord of the Rings reading experience:
|
I first read Lord of the Rings from the paperback copy that contains all three of the books as a teenager. My brother had just finished reading it and recommended it to me. I was fascinated that a paperback could be that thick and still stay together. I read it from cover to cover, and throughout I was kept guessing as to how other members of the fellowship were getting on. I was amazed at the depth of detail that Tolkien decribed, and at how engrossing the saga became.

Favorite Tolkien character:
|
Bilbo Baggins
A reluctant hero that fate pushes out of the door from his cosy rural suroundings. He matures to become a brave leader, and yet he still retains his humility. 'one of the best, as fierce as a dragon in a pinch.'
