A previously unpublished work by JRR Tolkien has been unearthed in the University of Oxford’s archives. The Lord of the Rings author’s translation of a medieval religious text from the early 13th century had lain forgotten in the Bodleian Libraries’ collections until now. His reworking of Sawles Warde, an early Middle English prose homily, which he titled Soul’s Ward in his calligraphic hand on the typescript, is to be published for the first time. It is an allegory in which the body is represented as a house. ...“It was just incredible. [Tolkien’s] manuscripts tend to be very fragmentary or full of revisions… In this case, since it was a typescript and the corrections were in a very neat hand, it was just amazing.” Link to the full story: https://www.stuff.co.nz/...ed-bodleian-archives
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.
