Despised the ending of The Hobbit then & now. Such drama-trauma-morality-hammer-AKA:life's-lesson-is-it-SUX-and-TANJ-or HFN-never-mind-HEA. NotOkNo. *walks away*
Discovered LoTR by way of jr high library which only had TT & RotK then finally found FotR in high school library. Pulled all nighter's reading each of them! Loved this much better due to Justice-HFN. The Silmarillion was a treat though I disagree with Arda being Morgoth's Ring.
Favorite Tolkien character:
Books - Legolas the smartass (or so he always seemed to me) who overcame preconceptions & had a rollicking good time w/his BFF Gimli.
Movies - Durin's Heirs for such interesting characterization & vast potential should they've survived Bo5A. And by Mahal yes! Yes they should have survived! Damn canon!
