You've been very patient (not out of choice, I'm sure ;) waiting for that delivery. I know where you'll be for at least a couple of days after it arrives! I'm like you. very hobbity in staying closer to home and no long journeys planned. I had always hoped for one more trip to Wellington; but it clearly won't be happening. *heavy sigh* I was SO LUCKY to have 2 visits in my "gramma's book of stuff" among my many astounding chapters. Your upcoming trip really does sound perfect! I love train rides! I hope you have a fabulous trip next week and a relaxing week until you get there :D

When I took daughter & g'son home yesterday (Sunday), we rounded the corner that's been so forbidding and we could actually see the narrow pavement!!! AND the 3 huge washed-out holes along the center. They've been lucky not to have anymore significant rain since that mid-April flood; but it's obvious the road may be blocked of for several days while they repair the damage. You should have heard the unified WHOOP! when we first saw so much road showing! :D

Research, cooking, gardening, *and* laundry. I need to sit down and rest just reading about it. I bet your house smells amazing when you come in from outdoors after a good cooking sesh. Plus, you've then worked up an appetite. How convenient! Enjoy the autumn days and garden bounties!

How exciting. Is it replacing an old one, or is this your first? What a great project. Oh my, yes. I can see how living in South Africa would put you off of long-haul flights. It's so nice that Britain and Europe are so well-connected by train. Little need for even short flights. I hope you enjoy your train adventure and getting the greenhouse set up!

So glad you got to reconnect and spend some quality time with your daughters. I'm betting there was some movie-watching, popcorn, and ice cream involved. Congrats to the new graduate too. She's got the perfect supporters to cheer her on.

I googled that cake and it looks pretty advanced (for me, anyway, for sure). I'm impressed that you're giving it a go. Being married to a Kiwi, Britbox is a 'have to have' in our household, lol. I've had my eye on the Bennet Sister series. If it's that good, we'll have to add it to the list! Have a great week!

It seems so appropriate to have something to snack on when watching their programs. Let us know how the cake turns out!

Of all the later books set in the P&P world, I've only found two to be worthy of Austen: Longbourn, about the servants of the Bennets, and The Other Bennet Sister. And apparently this adaptation does the latter full justice. I just binged "Ludwig." That was fun.
