How about some Fiesta Valentine's fun! Let's get the party started!

Greeting, fellow Fiesta-ers! Welcome to our Friday fun time. The forums were moving along pretty well toward the end of the week, then decided to slow down again today, so congratulations to everyone who makes it here to join us. I don't have any new forums to look at yet. It's like herding cats to keep things moving. Or, more like herding turtles. Our deck construction is still in process. It's a big deck, raised about 8 feet above the ground to get to the level of our patio sliding door, so it's quite a big project. By this time next week, hopefully B.G. and I will be able to relax and enjoy it. How have you been doing? Any special plans for Valentine's Day tomorrow? I heard a rumor that flowers may be arriving for me today, and tomorrow we'll make a special dinner, probably of tenderloin and some veggies. The Fiesta bar is stocked with pink champagne in honor of the special day, as well as all your favs The heart-shaped buffet tables are piled high with chocolates and peeps, as well as food that's actually good for you, lol. So, get to it, then tell us what's up! *leaves quarters on juke box* Play us a favorite love song!! Have a LOVEly weekend, everyone!!

Greetings, Altaira! Pink champagne? Hm...may I have a mug of mocha hot chocolate, please, with marshmallows, and a bowl of soup - it's still below freezing here, but supposed to warm up in the next couple of days. No snow for a while, thank goodness. I'm finding the same thing here, sometimes the Boards aren't too bad, but it's still taking a minute to load in. Herding turtles, indeed! Are you getting fresh furniture for the new deck? Will it have a fireplace of sorts? I've got chocolates ready to give out tomorrow, dark chocolates, of course, our favorites - some with caramel or mint centers. We'll probably go out for dinner tonight, at our favorite family-style restaurant, the one with the motto "Life is Short - Eat Pie". Homemade by one of their employees, of course! Oh, here's one of my favorite oldies, by Ol' Blue-Eyes himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Are-c0BLyIg

What a cute motto. Sounds like the perfect place to have a nice Valentine's Day dinner. Glad to hear it's supposed to warm up a bit there. Eventually we'll get new deck furniture. I really like what we have, but the back of one of the wicker chairs is beginning to fray, so I'll start internet shopping, but probably won't replace it until next summer. No fireplace or fire pit. Too close to the house, and our furniture and non-gas grill don't leave room for much else except a few container plants. Enjoy eating those chocolates! Yum!!

Here's a special Valentine's Day gift for you for how hard you've been working at saving our home AND for B.G. for all his understanding and support for this crazy Community :D Wouldn't it be GREAT if you're on deck this time next week!?! WOW!!! My youngster is done with her surgery to repair the tendon/ligament along the outside of her right ankle yesterday (Thursday) and she's doing GREAT! She was putting weight on it just a few hours after we got back. She's using one of those knee scooters which is very neat. We go back to the surgeon on Monday to check the healing progress. If he's happy with what he finds, a fiberglass cast will replace the brace, padding & ace bandages she's sporting now. She won't be going to a PT facility (insurance says NO!), so we'll take it a day at a time about staying with me and when to go home. Her 27yo son really is the decider on that as to how capable/available he is. His autism limits him in many ways, but he constantly proves he can step beyond that speed bump (of a sort). He's amazing! We're going to pick a movie to watch for Valentine's Day (at least one!) as we dine on home-made tacos (hard shell & soft) or Pizza!
Some Choices: Kate & Leopold The Wedding Singer Pretty Woman Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightly) Say Anything French Kiss While You Were Sleeping You've Got Mail Tonight we'll be watching a movie celebrating Friday the 13th! NOT the horror movies, but rom-coms of bad luck at love only to be.... well... you know ;) A Valentine's Day/Friday the 13th Crossover!
Some Choices: Stranger Than Fiction Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Better Off Dead Last Holiday Edge of Tomorrow (Live Die Repeat) Practical Magic Fall Guy Have a GREAT weekend & week! And thanks for taking such great care of us, Altaira :D

If you've seen the "Men in Black III", young "K" swears by the power of the pie. Whenever you're not sure what to do, have a piece of pie and everything become clear. Did you know that the bad guy (Boris) in that film is Jermaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords with Bret McKenzie?! Freaked me out when I saw that!!! SO CREEPY! Anyway... there is power in pie besides being so yummy! I hope the cold and snow stay away and that you have a wonderful weekend! :D

The power of Pi! Oh, gosh - their key lime is so light, just perfect after a heavy dinner, but if you want thick & luscious get the chocolate peanut butter. I've never seen MIB III - so Jermaine is in the movies, too! We're not due for any heavy snows soon - keeping fingers crossed, and I hope your snow is low enough for little Pickle, the poor pup!

What did you end up choosing? Our go-to is You've Got Mail. I've never seen any of those Friday the 13th movies, but I'd go with Groundhog Day for the theme! I am sooo glad the surgery went well, and fingers crossed for getting the cast. Is your grandson feeling more confident, in their new home? What a great space he has!

And we ended up watching "Ready, Player, One". The theme of love, loyalty, and sacrifice for others drew us to it... plus we wanted some energy and action ;)

Mocha hot chocolate would go well with the Mocha chocolate cake I made for Mr Kel. It's covered in Baileys Irish Cream buttercream, just for an added bit of decadence *hugs* Kel x

that Olive Garden does take-out. How do they manage the unlimited salad and breaksticks? But I hope you did get the Chocolate Lasagna for dessert!

that I'd read the book before knowing they were making the movie. And I know it's one your grandson would really like, also! Tacos are goood...especially if they're the fish tacos from our local Mom-and-Pop (literally - their kids run it now) Mexican food place. With a side of their jalapeno cornbread - mmm!

If you order the salad and bread sticks you get a bag of 5(?) bread sticks and a large salad that you'll probably only want to eat half of (saving the rest for later). We opted to skip dessert! I'm diabetic and T. knew she'd be full after her entree.
