It's not a super informative interview, but it's interesting to note Andy's comments about the art department.

One of the great boons of the preceding projects had been a quite astonishing continuity of crew, from the top creatives down to the craftspeople. This was certainly true between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: they had the same crew almost down to a man. But it is also true between those and The War of the Rohirrim, at least insofar as preproduction (Design, casting, writing, producing) and post-production (music, sound, digital shots but NOT the editing) are concerned. Rings of Power is an outlier in that it's not really part of this film series, but nevertheless it (like a lot of anciliary projects) employed the services of a huge number of the same craftspeople, though not the creatives.

The Hunt for Gollum looks to be in the same vein as The Hobbit and The War of the Rohirrim in this regard. I've only yet been able to ascertain two names: Dan Hennah being production designer (vis-a-vis Elijah Wood's comments) and his son-in-law Ra Vincent as set decorator.

That they're doing camera tests is also significant, since it implies a DP being in situ. I haven't been able to ascertain if Andy is teaming up with triple-Oscar winner Robert Richardson again (Richardson's schedule seems wide open except for some tentative Hannibal epic for Netflix) or whether he's working with Richard Bluck again: Andy had worked with Bluck since his first second-unit gig on Return of the King, and throughout The Hobbit.

In general, I'm increasingly getting the impression of a concerted effort to attain organic continuity with the preceding films: much more so than I thought they would initially. That's something I've mostly been able to acquire information about with regards to the art department, but it surely has implications to other departments like casting and music!

Either way it's so interesting to see the project really getting going!
