Indeed! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm still keeping one eye on 'Who's Online' to hopefully keep it from happening again any time soon.

Sounds like great weekend, and next-week plans, once again. Enjoy! Smile

What a run at the bottom of the 11th! [In reply to] Can't Post

Omigosh, the pitcher fumbled the ball, and overshot the catcher, who had to chase after the ball - while the runner actually had to return to the base, he'd never set foot on it!

Has there ever been a winning run like that?

Congrats Dodgers, and I'm cheering on the BlueJays!

Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

So stressful!! [In reply to] Can't Post

You could never predict an ending like that. Fun fact: a postseason series had never ended on a walkoff error until that Dodgers game.

Followed by tonight's wild and wonderful Tigers & Mariners game! I'm sure Annael's neck of the woods is in a merry mood tonight - such a fun game.

Onward!

zoooom! We be flying on fast boards, fersher! :D [In reply to] Can't Post

This is SO FUN!!! :D

That gate must have been one of those GOTTA DO IT projects that always got put on hold. It will make things just a bit easier, but definitely appreciated every time you use it :D

Been on the road a lot this week with daughter appointments and house searching. We were gone with dr stuff and broken windshield repair all day yesterday (Friday), and I'm leaving in about 1/2 hour (by 7:30a Saturday) to grab daughter and g'son for house hunting an hour north of them (1hr 15m for me) This is going to wear out the daughter with looking at 7 houses in 5 hours, but we're all so looking forward to it! They've done without their whole lives... so to have options and dreams coming true is such a blessing! Knowing they're going to be taken care of is such a relief *geeky hand clapping*

Another week of driving all over; but it's all good stuff!! I'll definitely load up my doggie bag with goodies from the buffet... DANKA! :D

Thanks for taking such great care of us, Altaira! Have a great weekend/week everyone! *waves fondly*

Stressful is so right! [In reply to] Can't Post

Fifteen innings for that game? Shocked And so close, so many previous innings...

Now it's Mariners vs Blue Jays. Who would you like the Dodgers to play against - Cubs or Brewers?

Tama triumphant! [In reply to] Can't Post

Congratulations! I wonder if he was tired out at all? Reggie comes home from his weekly daycare running around a large farm with several other dogs all day, and when he gets home he's twice as energized as when he left.Crazy

And Reggie also sends his congratulations. He was quite impressed. Laugh

I suppose I'm too late, haha [In reply to] Can't Post

I would not have minded the Cubs, as LA would then have home field advantage. But apparently the rain (from the fading tropical storm) on Tuesday will be fairly substantial, and if we played the Cubs that might have negatively affected the game. So to the dome in Milwaukee we go!

All four of these teams are impressive, so there should be plenty of fun games yet to come.

Well, I'm back! [In reply to] Can't Post

Straight onto the boards today, no messing; it's been nigh on impossible for me recently. I thought it was just my moody broadband, but apparently not. Those home improvements sound good; easy access to the fuse box is essential! Mine is in the Hobbit-sized cupboard under the stairs, which is still a bit of a challenge for the knees but at least warm and dry! I should add, my stairs go up seven steps then there's a flat half-landing and another seven steps going in the opposite direction. A bit fiddly, but if I was ever to fall I wouldn't have too far to go!

This week I travelled by train to the south coast of England to visit an old schoolfriend in a place called Bexhill-on-Sea. I don't see her often enough, though we are in touch by email. Bexhill boasts the De La Warr Pavilion, an art deco edifice on the promenade which has been used in tv's 'Poirot'. There's a steep, flinty, pebbly stormbeach, all in shades of ochre, russet, grey, gold and white - very picturesque, with occasional finds of 'hagstones' with holes in them.

Hope you all have the best week possible - cheers!

What fun! I devoured the Biggles books when I was young - I was not a very 'girly' girl - and it's great to hear one in action.

I hope the house-hunting was successful [In reply to] Can't Post

and they found somewhere with the right 'feel' as well as the more mundane things needed. Mind you, I don't remember having that 'feel' when I looked round my house, I was just relieved to find something conveniently placed for my daughter's school and within my budget! I do remember some truly awful wallpaper - that came off asap when we moved in. That was in 1988. I've built the 'feel' over the years. Good luck to them!

That was a rather long journey! [In reply to] Can't Post

The beach sounds intriguing, I bet gramma would love to do some stone-collecting there! So that's where that art deco with the curving staircase is? The show did use it a lot!

I appreciate stairs that have a midpoint landing. As I get older, I find myself less sure-footed when having to tote things down a long flight.

How did you fare in that storm you recently had?
