Aargh! [In reply to] Can't Post

That stone must have hit the windshield at the "perfect" spot to crack like that! What a pain to have to take the time to get it fixed, but it's got to be done.

Aquarium sealer on the small spots? I'll have to remember that!

Aww, Hobbity...our faithful mechanical steeds know, y'know. Heart

Hurrah for the rain [In reply to] Can't Post

and here's hoping for a substantial snowfall!

Stopping the writing mid-sentence? So that forces your mind back into the story! Cool

Ah yes, the cicada song. [In reply to] Can't Post

The first cicada of the season is welcome; its 900 cousins, though, are a bit much all together. Laugh

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Going better than expected! [In reply to] Can't Post

I really didn't expect them to be up 2-0 on the road, so we'll take it! Looks like the Yankees are finally giving some fight, although those Blue Jays look quite good...

The fire situation here has been very calm the past couple of months (knocks on wood). It's been cooler and I think unseasonably humid - especially overnight - so I'd like to think that this is helping reduce the chances of sparks flying around. Time will tell when the winds of winter (not George R.R. Martin's) come around!

Many thanks to you both! [In reply to] Can't Post

I was getting used to jumping between tabs to let this site load, but no need to do that now. Sly

Thanks, hope you're having a good week too, especially after your Broncos did well!

Sending good luck on your fires [In reply to] Can't Post

I still check the Watch Duty app daily out of habit, and I've seen for several weeks that Washington's bigger fires were still burning. Glad to hear some got taken care of with the rain and fingers crossed on the rest.

And also sending good luck to your Mariners! I couldn't stop giggling at the fan tonight who got the Raleigh home run ball and revealed the undershirt - very sweet of Cal to meet him after and give him some memorabilia.
