The ambiance of an old, well-used place, full of company. But - no Black Riders or their accomplices! 
Our waitress told us stories of the ghosts who haunt their second floor, "friendly" she said, but claimed she's had her apron's backbow untied, and has felt a hand on her back...

I wrote to Sister, and all she remembers is the inn being in Massachusetts a bit inland near cranberry bogs on the way north from Chatham to Plymouth. It was quite a while ago.
But...she remembers hearing of a ghost on the stairway up to our room! After the pub closed we were all alone in the building! With the ghost! Bwa ha ha! Definitely merits the four exclamation marks, eh?
