I'm excited for a cozy Lord of the Rings game. I have hopes for it too to be good. I had played most of Lord of the Rings: Gollum and while it's not the worse game I ever played, it definitely wasn't great.

The article is behind a paywall (although I'll link to it below), so I'll pull out some key points.
Tales of the Shire is “much more about living the simple life of a hobbit”, says the Wellington firm’s co-chief executive Dave Wilks.
“There’s nothing too big, nothing too major. It’s really about forging relationships within the Shire and doing hobbit things: farming, fishing and foraging.”
...“It’s very much aimed at the cosy audience.”
Unfortunately, it's had mixed reviews:
* IGN reviewer calls it 'a promising idea that turned out dreadfully boring and extremely buggy'.
* Indie Informer: "A joy to exist in."
* The Guardian: "a disservice to the emotionally complex source material", and "the promising atmosphere in Tales of the Shire is overwhelmed by endless fetch quests".
* Metacritic rates it 61 out of 100.
