Tolkien, of course. I am also big into fitness as well as tinkering with antique cars. Who doesn't love a good song and a brew (actually, rum for me, I am Cuban).
First Lord of the Rings reading experience:
I could not believe how much better the books were than the movies!!! Not from quality, but I had never read something and literally felt like I was in the middle of the Shire, or Rivendell, or Cirith Ungol. The imagery and history of Middle Earth blew me away along with all of the character development and so forth. After reading Tolkien, a professional wrestler was no longer my favorite author.
Favorite Tolkien character:
Aragorn. He is what I call "Reluctant Redemption." After finally accepting his destiny in LOTR, he showed the good still left in men. He inspires others, commands respect, and is a man of action. All while shunning any attention and praise afeterwards. He is surrounded by those who love him yet is still in his own solitude. Much like I think we all should strive to be in our daily lives. Driven and deternmined, yet able to sit back and reflect on ourselves when all is said and done.
