Read the books during winter break from college back in the early 1970s.
Probably took a grand total of four days as I couldn't put them down - even to sleep.
Dove back into them again right away, taking a bit more time and loving them all the more.
The friend who introduced me to the books wound up getting sick of me knowing more than her because I actually studied the appendices and learned about the correct name prounciations.
