The only reason I mentioned slow readers [In reply to] Can't Post

is because those of us who read quickly have an easier time skimming through things and getting on to the "good" parts. I know more than one slower reader who gave up on LOTR in that section because it seemed like they were never getting anywhere and their reading speed meant that they really were there a long time.

Of course, people who read faster can also bored and given up along the way as well. Smile

And it's taken me many years and many re-reads to stop being bugged by Tom. He does sort of show up, sidetrack the story and then never come into it again.But he makes the Old Man WIllow and Barrow-downs bits possible, so... *shrug*
