I know that Galdor is supposed to be Sindar, but is it a conceit of Jackson's that all Sindar seem to be blond? Apparently not entirely; the description of the Sindar in MERP reads (in part): "Most have fair hair and pale blue or grey eyes. Like the Noldor, they have light skin." I'm still not certain that there is a canonical source for this description.

'There are older and fouler things than Orcs in the deep places of the world.' - Gandalf the Grey, The Fellowship of the Ring
