From the Appendices at the end of LOTR (Appendix B) Aragorn was born in TA 2931; Bilbo's adventure takes place in TA 2941 which would make Aragorn 10 years old at the time. Bilbo's party is in TA 3001 (Aragorn would be 70) and Frodo does not leave the Shire until TA 3018, so when he finally meets Aragorn, Aragorn is then 87.

Of course, this is book timeline, not movie timeline.



I am well-aware of 10 year-old 'Estel'. However, I am also in the camp that believes that Jackson has severely compressed the timeframe of the LotR films to the point that no more than a year or two takes place between Bilbo's birthday party and Frodo leaving the Shire. That compression changes Aragorn's birthdate drastically. I am only using Tolkien's timeline to guess at the time of the year for the film events.
