I loved PJ's movie of "The Hobbit" but I really wanted to see Gandalf thank Gwaihir. I always had an image of Gandalf bowing infront of the great eagle, thanking him for the rescue. So I decided to draw it out.
I kept the dwarves as in the book, with the colored hoods, because of the wide shot ( you really couldnt tell whos who otherwise). Here is a link to a bigger pic and the other Tolkien things I did in the past.
