Not because she's more powerful, but because a) she has an army of Elves who would come to her defence, and b) while in Middle-earth, Gandalf's powers are reduced. If they were in Valinor then a freely-powered Gandalf would overcome Galadriel - although I think Gandalf is too old-school to smite a woman.
