Seriously, I can't believe people are so harsh towards PJ's King Kong. It's 84% fresh on Rottentomatoes, which is better than The Hobbit, but people these days seem to write-off King Kong as a failure.
And you know what? I LOVE the first hour. The whole boat trip to Skull Island builds SO much tension and creepy atmosphere.
The only part that drags, for me, is the final act back in NY. I do think it goes on too long. But otherwise, King Kong is a fantastic action-adventure movie, with some of the best effects and action sequences I've EVER seen in a movie (including LOTR).
So yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll probably love The Hobbit when I see it tomorrow. :)
