At least that is how it was called in the first drafts, before it changed to "Homely". And are you a geographer as well? How cool! In that case, may I ask you one question about hydrology? It occured to me when thinking about Beorn and his coming from the Misty Mountains - wouldn't there be a stream coming down from the goblin's Back Door? Isn't this the natural place for the melting snow and puring rain to gather, and flow down to the Anduin?
