I think Bilbo will get his hero moment earlier, saving Thorin from a Warg in AUJ, so it doesn't matter that Legolas and Tauriel play a significant role in the spider rescue. I'm sure the barrel escape will be 100% down to Bilbo (with perhaps less dependence on luck than in the book). I suspect the Legolas-Thanduil bust-up will happen in between, so he isn't around for the Barrel escape.
A Far Dragon is the best kind...
