I think PJ probably needs to get away from ME and make a film about something els, like he did at the end of lotr trilogy.
For me i think a mini series would work better but i would want it to have movie sized budget and directors. I dont think PJ would be suited to making a mini series of the silmarillion.
Saying that i dont think a mini series would work as i dont think they would get a big enough audience and ultimately i think it is just fine to have this book left as a book. Sometimes less is more
