but of course on a much smaller scale. I think there will be people who aren't particularly interested in it, who will perhaps be won over, and will find themselves caught up in the excitement. There will also be people who aren't really interested in The Hobbit, but see benefits for Wellington, and like the idea of a big event.
There will always, of course, be 'disgruntled of Wellington' who will write a grouchy letter to the newspaper.
And there will be lots of screaming hordes, who just want to get on the telly!
And then, of course, the *real* fans. 
I think there are going to be some pretty significant and lengthy road closures, so that will naturally impact on a lot of people.
I have no idea whether it will benefit Wellington or not.
Actually, they really should have the event here in Christchurch. We have loads of space, and tons of parking - just pick an empty site. Our central city red zone is already the right colour.
