not much but I was flipping through my records, too [In reply to] Can't Post

I haven't even been listening at work since I've need to be pretty mobile and accessible to people talking to me. I just sit my Zen on the desk since it's a little bulky to strap to my waistband and wear headphones.

But, my son mentioned he was looking for some music we used to listen to when he was younger: Pyewacket's 7 to Midnight. That recording by them was mostly music used for English Country Dancing but they put a great vibe on it. One piece even goes into some Caribbean flavor with steel drums.

It's out of print (from vinyl) and has never been offered digitally. I thought we might have it so I dug through my records and found it. The other son has a turntable (we got rid of our old one - probably because there wasn't room for it in the electronic stack anymore) so he could try to set up to record it digitally. But I thought we might have already and I did find some tracks - I appear to have only kept the ones that were suitable for dancing to.

For some reason, there is only one Pyewacket song on Youtube. Amazon has one album available for sale as CD or download so you can hear samples from there. But 7 to Midnight will be a favorite because I love the Country Dance tunes.

I've only kept a precious few of my vinyl albums. Among those I noticed as I flipped through them:

(bought at time of release)
Last Days of the Filmore
Woodstock
Tommy - Who - (both the original and the 1972 orchestral version.)
Gasoline Alley - Rod Stewart
Fragile - Yes
Harvest - Neil Young
Abbey Road and Magical Mystery Tour - Beatles (I had pretty much all of their albums but probably got rid of most)
Hot Tuna - Hot Tuna
Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie
Classic Clifton - Clifton Chenier
Bob Dylan - masses of stuff from 70s and 80s. Earliest is probably Bringing It All Back Home

(purchased a few years after release:)
A Clockwork Orange soundtrack
Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack
(I had more soundtracks than this at one point but they must not have survived the great purges)

(from my father's collection)
Mountain Ballads And Old-Time Songs - Bradley Kincaid
Never No Mo' Blues, Train Whistle Blues - Jimmie Rodgers

If people look out for one of Morothon's posts, they can find a link to his blog that cover music. He has great collections of album covers that take me back. I miss album covers. CD covers aren't the same. And the sets, like the 72 version of Tommy and Last Days of the Fillmore were great.
