Rhymes with die and contrasts with stone?

Dwarves not only do not lust after long life, they seem quite attached to Middle-earth, and quite willing to return to the earth from which they came. They also have a belief that they will be wakened again for the Final Battle. I think this is why Gimli was particularly affected by the Shadow Host, while Legolas was barely affected at all; Gimli is extremely uncomfortable in the world of spirits, while Legolas is quite at home there. Which makes it that much more remarkable that Gimli would accept the invitation to visit the Undying Lands, just to see Galadriel once more before dying.
