I really like both designs for smaug

I think i have probably imagined smaug looking like how both howe and lee have drawn them over the years of reading it. I would not be disappointed with either. Due to the first hobbit book i got was a paperback copy with john howe's design of smaug i would probably go with that for sentimental reasons as its how i first imagined him to be. Alan Lee's design is great as well though. Maybe im easily pleased when it comes to dragon design? lol.
