Loki vs. Sauron Can't Post

So, the God of Evil vs. the Dark Lord. (Tom Hiddleston vs. Benedict Cumberbatch.) There's a number of possible variations on this meeting between the trickster and Maia. I'm much more familiar with Marvel's versions of Loki, a powerful magician who may well be able to mop the floor with Sauron even with the Ring in combat: but Loki could probably team up (in the guise of Lady Loki perhaps), doublecross, and then upset Sauron's designs, becoming the new Lord of the Rings in the process. It's a close call. From what I know of the more traditional Loki, as depicted in The Sandman, he's dangerous but a bit of an imp compared to Sauron. Thoughts?
