Let us make a nice crossover poll

Which of the following Jane Austen heroines/heroes would thrive in Middle-Earth?

Where and why? :)

Other - George Wickham.

The type of person who always manages to get out of trouble and slime himself into a better position.

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Other: George Knightley, without a doubt.

A hero for any age anywhere...and so well named.

Captain Wentworth...

... would do very well indeed under the Gondorian Ship-Kings, or in Numenor before it went to the bad.

I voted for Wentworth

because Gondor needs a navy.

But I think Mr. Bennet would do well either in Rivendell or Minas Tirith . . . he'd disappear into the library and be happy.

Lizzie Bennett would make a good hobbit

She enjoys the simple things in life, like long walks, dancing, and spending time with (some of) her family!

Where's Frodo?

Emma would be right at home in hobbiton.

Writing letters and giving advice like a certain hobbit auntie I know.

Wentworth

I can easily see Captain Wentworth on a Númenórean ship.
