Early Scripts?

I'm fairly certain I've asked about this before on this forum, and I know there's pretty much no hope (just a fool's hope?) on this issue, but I figure it can't hurt to ask anyway. I'm a big history buff, including movie history, and I've always thought it would be 1000% fascinating to read the early film scripts for Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies. This applies to the original Miramax two-film script and also the early shooting scripts for the trilogy, with no (or at least fewer) rewrites or pickups added in. This is purely for educational and historical reasons, born from a genuine love of the material.

I'd sort of given up on ever seeing them online, but every once in a while (again, a fool's hope) I've done internet searches for them. Come to find that on several online movie auction sites, they have actually been selling both the two-film script and the early drafts of the trilogy (with the code-title Jamboree). Naturally, they've been sold already, and for much more money than I could ever buy them with. But it does give me hope that they might find their way online in PDF form some day.

So, does anyone know anything about this? Is there any possibility these have appeared before? I realize it's a long shot, but TheOneRing certainly seems like the best place to check Smile

And even if there's nothing any of us can do read to them... wouldn't it be interesting?

It would be fantastic

And perhaps make us grateful for what we got in its final form.

Yeah, it would be very intriguing

To see various incarnations of the scripts. I'm also hugely interested in the 90-page story treatment that the filmmakers started with.

Xoanon's Miramax script review

For more chuckles check out four of the LOTR audition scripts. (Page down a few posts.)]

More were on the old (or, but it's now defunct.

Character is what we do on the internet when we think no one knows who we are.
