They were known as The-Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, right? There was a secret passage deep into a mountain where the door was five feet high and three could walk abreast. It wasn't a very useful hideout, as it happened, because they were only able to use it at the moment of the setting sun...in a cloudless sky, for obvious reasons..when the last light of Durin's Day could shine upon the key-hole...and a thrush just happened to be on the doorstep eating snails.
