Thorin Thursday - and FanArt for the Book fans

Well I'll save the bookfan art for last - trust me, it will be worth it! First up, here's a great image of Thorin:

Really captures the eyes, doesn't it?

This one is called "King Under the Mountain." Love the snowfall!

Now this is a good one for Avandel, who always likes the contrast of light and dark - This one's for you, Avandel!

"The end of all things" - oh, if only! If only Thorin had succeeded in killing Azog in "An Unexpected Journey"; say, I feel a fanfic coming on! Now here's a nice one featuring Balin:

Not as realistic as some, but I do like the image. It's a good, buddy-pic for sure! And now, the fanart for the bookfans:

It's called "The last stand of Thorin Oakenshield," and while there may be a movie influence, this looks more like the battle as portrayed in the book. You can see Thorin, standing tallest in the middle, but look at the Dwarf to his right - the one with the shield? Kind of looks like Thorin, so I'm thinking that might be Kili, defending him with shield. And then there's a Dwarf standing right in front of him, the one with a long spear? I'm betting that one is Fili, also defending his Uncle and King. Yeah, we know how it ends, and I've seen some good (yet depressing) fanart of their bodiesUnsure, but this one shows them going out fighting - and all together! So this one goes out to Otaku-Sempei and Dainpig - hope you like it!

Great art!

Smile What a perfect start to a Friday morning!

I popped AUJ into the player last night for the first time in several months (now that it's starting to get dark earlier again Frown ) and then sat there wondering, "Why has it been so long since I've watched this?"

Terrific art! Heart

Nice

Thank Lord we have these fans. And see Thorin killing Azog in the Misty Moutains is an interesting what if, it deserves and entire thread in Movies - Hobbit.
