If only Thorin had succeeded in killing Azog in "An Unexpected Journey"; say, I feel a fanfic coming on! Now here's a nice one featuring Balin: Not as realistic as some, but I do like the image. And now, the fanart for the bookfans: It's called "The last stand of Thorin Oakenshield," and while there may be a movie influence, this looks more like the battle as portrayed in the book. You can see Thorin, standing tallest in the middle, but look at the Dwarf to his right - the one with the shield? Kind of looks like Thorin, so I'm thinking that might be Kili, defending him with shield. And then there's a Dwarf standing right in front of him, the one with a long spear? I'm betting that one is Fili, also defending his Uncle and King. Yeah, we know how it ends, and I've seen some good (yet depressing) fanart of their bodies  , but this one shows them going out fighting - and all together!
