What are your top ten reasons for not being....

able to see the opening of the Hobbit TABA film in December...

"Camping in Australia and the dingo gave me rabies (or ate my baby)!

"On a mission to planet Mars"

"Starring in a play called "Polar Vortex: The Sequel"

"Still eating Thanksgiving turkey leftovers"

AND.....

I really tried.

I was on my way when the terrible blizzard that I decided to defiantly try my chances against threw my car right into a ditch! Not being daunted in the slightest, I packed up (having been prepared for this - knowing the dangers I was willingly risking to attend this event) my warm clothes and supplies and started walking from the ditch to the theater (which happens to be across several highways). I did manage the treck but not before the last ticket sold out! Bummer!

If all the world's a stage then who's writing the script?

dollars

I can't afford that much therapy, seeing as for some of this movie will be a real downer (and probably all of us unless PJ decides he can't let go after all).

...

The polar vortex brought Sharknado and the Zombeavers along for the ride and I'm hiding in the panic room until they go away.

Some of my professors are actually sparkly vampires so I have classes during the day AND night.

I'm trying to figure out how to train my dragon not to steal the neighbor's chickens. (No seriously, my neighbors really do have chickens)

The TARDIS malfunctioned and I'm trapped in Victorian England.

"So fare thee well, my own true love
I'll think of you night and day
A place in my mind, you will surely find
Although I am so far away
And when I'm alone, far away from home
I'll think of the good times once more
Until I can make it back someday here
To Paddy's green shamrock shore"

I was kidnapped by thirteen dwarves and a wizard.

But on the plus side, I'm going on an adventure!

Decide to invest in the Kleenex market due to TABA being (so sadly) the last film in the trilogy and cant get car out of the driveway due to mountain of Kleenex and it is RAINING!!

(I know....getting weirder....its the weather)

My 4 siblings and I

have seen every movie together, since we're all Tolkien fans. That means we have to wait a couple of weeks until the Christmas holidays when we're in the same place and can watch the movies together. So I always miss the premiere, but it's completely worth the wait to see the movies with my siblings.

Hmmm....

10. Red carpets clash with my wardrobe.

9. I am hoping to require an appendectomy prior to the opening.

8. I have important appointments scheduled every day in December.

7. Perhaps the Mayan calendar apocalypse was a couple years off.

6. I can read the book anywhere.

5. If I wanted fan-fiction, I would write it myself.

4. December is a good time to start a fascinating hobby...like growing mold samples.

3. To quote Patsy: "It's only a model."

2. If I wished to waste money, I would simply throw it out the window.

1. How will anyone else fit in the theater besides Peter Jackson's ego?

Ah, you have a great gift for rhyme. ;) //

“It was not Joy itself but its presence in a biological organism comprised largely of water, nitrogen and carbon that constituted the greatest puzzle. That we dream and wish at all is a powerful element of the case for belief that myths communicate some truth that cannot be communicated any other way.” --Alan Jacobs, The Narnian
