Why is Australia last for everything!!?

All us poor Aussie ringers have got it tough! Almost every bit of merchandise and the film itself is always released here later then everyother country! December 13 for the world, DECEMBER 26 for Australia!!!Mad That's 13 days of spoiler temptation on the hobbit messageboards. And trust me when there is the temptation to be spoiled it is almost impossible to resist, especially if it is the actual plotline of the movie itself!!

I agree

wholeheartedly. It is a bit unfair. But I guess there is nothing we can do about it. So we have to grin, cover our eyes, and bear it!

Don't Worry !!!

At least we won the Melbourne Cup, with only 5 Aussie horses in the field and 19 overseas contenders, says she who is UK born.

"Good-on-Ya" Gai Waterhouse Smile First female to win it.

But just think, we have got something to look forward to for Christmas Cool

You could leap on a plane and head off half way around the world in time for Dec 13 to see it or get Gandalf to summon an Eagle to get you there. Or failing that Ban yourself from the TORn for 13 days to avoid spoilers. Evil

But your right it's not fair Frown

Agreed.

Last year, I was fortunate enough to spend summer in Europe and got to watch AUJ with the rest of the world.

I have no idea how to avoid spoilers for a whole two weeks. Impossible with friends in Europe, message boards and youtube one click away and so on.

I wish tickets to NZ were as cheap as inland flights. Smile

Not mention the EE...

An extra 2 weeks we have to wait for that as well!

As much as it pains me I wouldn't have it any other way... Having seen every other Tolkien film on Boxing Day it's become somewhat of a rite of passage.

Agreed.

And they wonder why so many of us used torrents with AUJ.

Mwuhh huh huh

it is payback for the underarm bowling incident in that one day match between NZ and Aussie way back when. The time for great suffering is upon you, consider yourself lucky and be thankfull you get any Tolkien works from Sir PJ & NZ at all.

I sense an international incident brewing

There is a quick and easy way to prevent this escalating: Promise you will never give back Russell Crowe.

Kind of unfair yes

I feel your anger, I would be very dissapointed if this was the case in Sweden as well. Luckily, we get to see it 2 days (!) before the US premiere! Very happy about that.

Solution=advanced screening

I'm sure if we campaign to Roadshow for an advanced/fan screening they'll give us one. Maybe in one cinema per capital city? Us fans will fill 'em up. If there's demand I'm sure they'll be kind enough... hopefully.

That's really tough for you in China, ninquelote

I hope you may get an earlier release than you did for AUJ.

I will do what I did last year....

Stop over in the homeland and watch it there as I also plan on spending X'mas in NZ anyway. ;)

At least like last year I was passing through from the US so I decided to spend a week in NZ so I can see the Hobbit before returning to Perth. I believe I'll do the same for TaBA as well (without the US travel of course, unless I do decide to return there next year). ;)

I do not want what it is not mine.... I only want what comes from within....

Seconded! /

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Well this West Islander

has just solved the delayed release problem by booking tickets to two Embassy showings on 12 December in Wellington Wink

A little excessive perhaps, but really any excuse to visit NZ is worth it and on this occasion we are taking the opportunity to travel down Dunedin way before heading back to Wellington for the movie.

Yes, waiting has never been easy.

Spoilers-resist is always the hardest part of all, for there are so massive info on TORN, Tumblr, Facebook and so on.

Hope we could get to see The Desolation of Smaug earlier this time.Unsure

That must be so difficult,

having to avoid spoilers. I remember last year someone started a "Spoiler Free Thread" I think on the Main Forum so we could discuss things without getting blind sided by movie information. But I can't find it right now for some reason. I think that's a good idea though. I'll try to find it again if I can. In the meantime, the Reading Room is probably the "safest" place to be!Smile
