I saw no advertising in the UK

Compared with the LOTR films, there was nothing barring that pretty poor poster of the Dwarves on buses, which only showed up once the film had been released. LOTR was all over the place – in supermarkets, eating places, even the Post Office – and each film even had its colour coding. I loved AUJ too. Am going to see it again tomorrow, sadly only in ordinary 3D (which I don't like much), rather than my preferred high frame rate version, which I can't see anywhere. Still, beggars can't be choosers – I'll take what I can get.
Like it or lump it, (I love it), the film has been successful overall, something which is somewhat surprising given a) The reviews and b) The pretty poor advertising (at least here in the UK, there was almost nothing promoting the film's release a week prior, save the odd TV spot and *very occasional* poster in the window. You literally had to walk into a book shop to find out anything about the movie's existence).
