Silmarillion Scavenger Hunt #1

This is an experiment. I wanted to throw in a game for readers of the Silmarillion while we're discussing chapters. Guidelines:
1. For some of these, there may be more than one answer.
2. The clues are somewhere between trivia and riddles. If people want a true trivia contest, we can try that too or instead, but I'm aiming more for "reading comprehension lite." Because it's about reading comprehension and retention of currently discussed chapters, I think it should be here in the Rdg Room and not Main.
3. Feel free to add humorous responses, but please try to add real ones too.
4. The clues point only to chapters that we've read so far.

Open to all ideas on how to improve this! Here goes.

Find:
1. A hunter who never wears colored garments
2. An environmental conservation scheme
3. People named for places
4. A homeless loner

I'll take a stab at it

1. A hunter who never wears colored garments : The Mysterious Hunter who snatches wandering elves, or perhaps Orome
2. An environmental conservation scheme : Yavanna asking for protectors for her plants
3. People named for places : Amroth, Lorien, Mandos
4. A homeless loner : Oh this is one I just don't know, Turin? Beren?

I like it!! More please!

You got a few right--kudos. Just remember, no looking ahead.

The answers are in current and past chapters discussed so far. Glad you enjoyed it. I think this can be fun.

Let's try

In case you haven't realised by now, I'm a sucker for trivia quizzes.

1. A hunter who never wears colored garments
At first I thought you've meant Orome, and was quite puzzled; but now I guess you mean the black Hunter (Melkor?) who harried the Elves at Cuivienen, helped not doubt by Varda's newly-fangled stars.

2. An environmental conservation scheme

Could be the unspecified power Manwe promises Yavanna will arise to keep the olvar (aka ents); but Yavanna's putting plants to sleep until the children awaken seems more reasonable. But does this mean she knew of the sun? What on Arda they were waiting for?

3. People named for places
Namo and Irmo. That is, Mandos and Lorien. It is a mystery to me why the places weren't named after them.

4. A homeless loner
I expect you mean Ulmo; but it's not as if he was really homeless.

number 1 stills feels not quite right...

1. I could see Oromë as the hunter of "Light" on his white horse Nahar, or Melkor as the hunter of "Dark" clothed in shadow, both of which might be considered "colourless". However, I still feel like I haven't quite got it. I could also entertain a more Romantic answer: Menelmacar (Swordsman of the Heavens) clothed only in starlight.

2. Ents!

3. Mandos and Lórien

4. Ulmo "Ulmo is the Lord of Waters. He is alone. He dwells nowhere long, but moves as he will..."

Good job! Answers

1. Aredhel the White, who likes to hunt with the Sons of Feanor. Though re-reading her description, it says she wore only silver and white, and silver is a color, so I fudged on that a little since her title is, after all, not Aredhel the Silver and White.

2. Yes, Ents work here, as does Yavanna's plant hibernation scheme.

3. Yes, the Feanturi brothers.

4. Telain quoted the passage I was thinking of for Ulmo. I suppose he is "at home in the sea," but he has no real home and appears to wander about, and he is alone. Osse, by contrast, has Uinen and also has some sort of home or district nigh to the coasts and shores.

Thanks for participating!

Would anyone else like to do one?
