book editions

i like collecting different versions of tolkiens books, mainly lotr!

( just found a nard back red top Silmarillion anniversary edition in a charity shop!)

years ago i got a blue box set (centenary special edition) hardback lord of the rings. it has silver rimming on the top and bottom of the individual books , illustrated by alan lee, 1994 i think.

ive never seen this box set for sale anywhere else since, even on the interent, not even a photo, now over the years the actual box had broken, ive still got most of it but its is basically just two sides!

has anyone seen this edition?, or know possibly where to get it! its my favourite edition but the books need the box to stay in good condition!

E-bay

E-bay is always a good bet someone on there will eventually put the book you are looking for up for sale.

If not there and you need it now, there is Abebooks but they can be more expensive.

Otherwise just check out more book related Tolkien sites which are interested in the different editions of the books - a Tolkien book collectors website.

Also there is a website called tolkienbooks.net It has basically every known english copy of the Tolkien's books - there are a few on there that i drool over, haha. I think the website is currently down but will just take a day or two to get back online.
