The new action figures 2013 AUJ

Idlehands has posted pictures of the rest of the AUJ +bolg action figures

The new dwarves looks fairy nice, Radagast could use some more color.

What do you guys think?

Great news!

I'm really looking forward to these figures!

I know these are prototypes but there are few things I noticed:
- Radagast looks not really like "The Brown" to me. Yes his coat is brown but couldn't the use a "warmer" brown? It looks almost grey in a way. And yes it was mentioned in the article: No bird poop? Unsure
- Azog and his (repainted) warg is my favorite one but why does he have hair and why doesn't he carry his mace from AUJ but Bolgs weapons?
- We now have all 12 dwarves... wait 12? Right Gloin is still missing! Bombur looks great!

All in all: They don't look that bad. At least Azog with his almost white warg and Bolg are already on my wish list but why no more baddies? No new orc or goblin?

Whoohoo to Wave 2!

Azog looks AWESOME! I'm psyched for the dwarves, but I also noticed that Gloin was missing. Perhaps he's not made yet, or is in some sort of a beast pack? Making 11 is just wrong. lol Still, I'm excited!

Missed it

Didn't notice Gloin was missing until this morning when you all mentioned it. Maybe he's in some kind of two pack or something that we'll see in Wave 2? I hope thats the case anyways.

I'm amazed by how much better these dwarves look compared to those in wave 1!

Only one I don't like is Azog. His face is too squashed and why does he have hair?

Articulation Issue

I just hope the attire the dwarves have doesn't interfere with their articulation like that of Wave 1. They look grand!

Great news !

Those new figures looks great. I will get the 3 new 6 inchs. I'm happy they chose to make Azog, Bolg and Radagast in 6 inch but I was hoping for a second dwarve too.

Maybe some change

I expect some tweaking but as a whole I believe the articluation will be fairly similar to what we saw with the 3 3/4 figures in wave one. Dori looks really good and might match Balin for best Dwarf so far.

I'm doubtful that it will only be those 3 figures released in the 6" wave... I'm fairly certain that those are the only 3 they're showing right now.

Remember at comiccon, they only showed Gandalf, Thorin and Bilbo in the 6" wave. They ended up releasing Legolas, Tauriel and Yazneg (only released in the UK). So, following that same trend, we can expect 2 or 3 other figures to show up between now and summer.

My hopes are for Balin, Bofur and Gollum.

For me

I'm not looking for the 6 inch. At the moment, I'm not really interested. I want the 3.75. That's what I'm getting for the others that are out now. That's what I plan to get when these come out. So, if they're 3.75, then I'll be one happy little Dwarf Collector. ^_^

Here's to Balin, Dwalin, and the Ri Bros!

Elessar, you know Dwalin has my first place spot for best figure in the 3 3/4 line of Wave 1. Balin is my number 2. lol Cheers to the Ri borthers!

Of course Dwaling is also a great choice. You know I love the look of the character. I think you could flip flop both of those and win either way. I am very much looking forward to the other Dwarves but also getting Radagast and Azog.

More is better.

I think Gloin is coming as 3 3/4 as well, hes just not pictured and some Goblins figures too. I read it on and they said Gandalf/ Radagast 2 pack, Azog with Warg beast pack and Dwarf/Goblin 3 packs are coming. I dont think this is all of the 3 3/4 wave 2 figures. They will probably show more closer to release.

That sounds like music to my ears. Me and Dwalin have been talking about multipacks with goblins and dwarves. So this is really good news if that rumor is floating about. I figure we will see more than that as we get closer to say toy fair and at worst comic-con

Just read on Idlehands that the goblins/orcs in a Goblin 3 pack will be Bolg, Fimbul and Grinnah. So it will be pre released baddies im afraid

Two Dwarf 3 packs - Dori, Nori, Ori & Bofur, Bombur, Bifur i guess that leaves Gloin and Oin in a 2 pack?
One Goblin 3 pack - Bolg, Fimbul, Grinnah damn shame, i wanted a new 3 3/4 Yazneg
Radagast/ Gandalf wizard pack

Still glad to see 3 packs but I don't need those.

Well, I'm getting all the dwarves so however they split it up I'm game.

I want a 3 3/4 Yanzeg as well.

Its not 1 Goblin & 2 new Dwarves as 3 packs, they could have easily made us buy them that way, unless it changes, hope not though. They mention playsets as well, but there was that Goblin King playset that never came out.

Bring on the Dwarves!

Well, I hope the Goblin King Playset comes out along with the Nori and Stone Troll beast pack. I kept my preorders on those with BBTS and Toywiz. Elessar, I'm with you on picking up more dwarves. It's about time they are reunited with the rest of Thorin and Co from Wave 1! As for your comment, steve2477, let's keep our paws crossed that TBD doesn't make us repurchase duplicates of figures we already have in order to get new ones. That would be a BUMMER! lol

A company reunited

Yeah, it will be nice to have all the Dwarves. I've been able to complete the Fellowship and the Traveling Company from The Hobbit with the Lego sets but I'd like to get them all in the other formats. Looks like we'll be able to do this fairly soon with TBD but Sideshow, Weta, and GG will take time which is normal with the higher end items.

The Summer Wind

The Lego sets looks pretty cool! The last word I read on TBD was that Wave 2 might not come out until summer. Did you hear different? I hope that my ideas sent to TBD for future productions of their 3 3/4 inch and 6 inch figure lines have a positive effect. If not, may the grace of the Valar shine down upon us!

Thankfully not gone with the wind lol

The Lego sets are pretty slick. I've snagged a few of them and its something pretty fun to have in the oole collection. That's the last I heard and I expect its probably is still the case. I'd like it to be a bit sooner and it could if they announce anything at Toy Fair next month. Let's hope. At least it lets them know fans are interested in their product and the process of making them.

Just noticed

Azog has his normal arm, not his claw replacement. His Warg would need to be much whiter too. I prefer Azog with his normal arm though as a figure, i know it isnt movie accurate, but he looks better as a figure.

The More Arms the Better!

Happy Friday! Either Azog arm is cool with me, but both would be be better! I want to see Bali and Dwalin in the 6 inch form. From what TBD did so far, I bet the detail and articulation would be superb! Have a GREAT weekend!

Multi-Armed Monster lol

The topic of your post made me think of that character from Mortal Kombat with multiple arms. lol Both of those two in the six inch line would be awesome. Both of the smaller figures turned out really well so I'd expect the same in the larger scale.

Have a great weekend man! Think I'm gonna go see The Hobbit again.

The Hobbit...Round 2!

Hey, Elessar! How was your weekend? Did you see The Hobbit again?

I remember that guy! lol True story. The public needs some preorders. Seriously, this is taking too long. Prototypes or not, if the figures are going to be made and were displayed in Toyfair, we may as well be able to order them. That makes sense to me.

Ding. Ding.

Weekend was ok. Didn't care for the result in the Super Bowl but it is what it is. I did. I went and saw it one last time Saturday and I'd say the theatre I was in was 80-85% full which I was glad to see.

Nice! I wasn't sure if you would or not but that's the first thing that came to my head. I agree. We need some news and orders soon. Toy Fair is coming up so hopefully something will work with that event.

No problem :)

High Hopes for Toy Fair!

Yea, I was happy that SF came back the way they did. Definitely made the game more interesting. I wish they won, of course. Glad to hear that The Hobbit is still raking in viewers! My weekend was pretty low key. I've been planning my best friend's birthday party with his girlfriend. Karaoke it is!

My paws are crossed that Toy Fair brings us some good news. The pics we saw at the Toy Fair in England was a tease. They were a bit blurry, there were only a few shots taken, and I'm sure there is more to see. I'm concerned that we did not see the Goblin King Battle playset or the Nori and Stone Troll beast pack. Where is Gloin in all of this?

Speaking of Toy Fair, Hasbro better now let me down. lol I feel like there could be a ton of more figures made form CW Season 4.

Star Wars

Help Obi-Wan KToyFair you're my only hope. lol

Yeah, I was proud they fought back but really bummed they lost. I love my Chiefs but I love my Niners more.

I was really pleased as well. I mean its been in theaters closing in on two months and even in only a 200 person theater that many people is a good thing. They've taken the BR date off the site so it might be making enough money they're going to delay things just a bit. Nice! That should be a good time but I suck at singing so much its not something I could get the guts to do.

I think and believe it will. We're getting into the season of news for collectibles upcoming stuff anyways. You have Toy Fairs happening outside the US and soon the US with the Summer Cons coming fairly soon. Yeah, wave 2 needs to complete the Dwarves. As far as I know from checking out TBD FB page the Goblin King set we got in wave one is the battle playset.

Oh I think they're gonna have tons of stuff including that new 6" range.

Arf, not Barf!

Ha ha that was hysterical! If Ob-Wan was involved, you know that Toy Fair would be OUTSTANDING!

When I looked on BBTS, it shows that a customer can order the Goblin King Beast Pack and the Goblin King Battle Playset as separate items. Also, both items are listed as significantly different prices. So, I don't think that they are one in the same. At least, I hope not. lol I wonder if TBD is going to make some of the dwarves in 3 packs? It makes sense, but they would profit more from 2 packs and adding the extra dwarves to beast packs.

I've heard of this new 6" Star Wars line, but I think there was mention of only 4 figures thus far. I'd like to see some new figures from the Clone Wars and the Vintage Line for 3 3/4' lines. Though, I have heard that the Vintage Line may be discontinued, which is a bummer. Still, it's been a while since we've seen anything from Hasbro with the SW figures. I did recently purchase the AT-RT with 501st ARF Trooper. It looks awesome!

It couldn't hurt thats for sure.
I don't know. I do know that on TBD FB page someone asked about it and they said it was but the person may not have asked the question correctly so that TBD only thought they meant that item. I would expect to see some 3 packs if not involving Dwarves at least involving what we've talked about before with Elves/Goblins army builders.

Yeah, I expect it to start a little slow at TF but show more at Comic-Con. Nice! Its been forever since I bought anything SW as my focus is mostly on Middle-earth at this point.

That's cool. It would be great to see some Dwarven 3 packs. I'm going to hold on my existing preorders for now in hopes that those additional items are produced.

I get so excited when TF comes around! Comic-Con too! I'm looking fwd to seeing all of the new figures set to come out this year. It's definitely difficult keeping up with SW and Middle Earth, but I am truly fascinated by both worlds and the stories within them.

Spaceballs is a GREAT movie! I actually just bought the Mel Brooks collection. Can't wait to check it out!

Yeah, hold on to those orders until we see what is to come and where the best place to have orders coming from is.

I hear ya. I love Toy Fair and the summer Con season. Just seeing all the new stuff thats to come is always cool even if its not something that I will be ordering I enjoy seeing it none the less. Now, with the fact Middle-earth is getting more items lately it made Comic-Con the last couple of years even more fun for me. Just being able to get upclose to things I'm going to be buying just makes me smile.

It is. I enjoy it anyways. I love that it kind of pokes fun at SW and how serious some people take it.

The Schwartz!

Happy Friday, Elessar!

That's my plan. It doesn't hurt to keep them.

The Hobbit has definitely spiced up these events for me as well. Even though I do not attend them, I look forward to seeing the reviews and photos from TF and CC more and more. I still want to see trolls. lol TBD and Weta need to get some out now while AUJ is still fresh!

Yea, Spaceballs is legendary. I actually have the cartoon series at home, but haven't watched it yet. Maybe this weekend will be a good opportunity with the snow everywhere. lol I would have liked to have seen an action figure line from that film. The figures used during the movie are online and owned by an individual.

Enjoy the weekend!

Da Schwartz! lol

Same to you my friend. :)

No, doesn't hurt at all especially if there is no upfront order charge.

I hear ya. This will be my 9th Comic-Con in a row and the first year I went was the end of the Sideshow/Weta The Lord of the Rings statue line and since then its been bits and pieces of Middle-earth coming and going. Now, the last 2 years or so The Lord of the Rings has been coming back more and more along with The Hobbit starting up so its been fantastic. This is on top of all the other cool stuff there is to see at Comic-Con. :) I'm with ya. I'd love to see the three Trolls show up at TF for TBD and then a statue from Weta at Comic-Con.

Its pretty darn funny. I forgot they had a cartoon series from that. Be safe with the snow from what they're saying on the world news it gonna be bad. I think they might have done some figures but I'd have to check on that.

You 2! Be safe. :)

From London to FL

Thanks, dude! How was your weekend?

Congrats on the 9 Comic-Con journeys in a row! I wish I could join you, but I do need to save my vacation days. I'm going to England in October to visit my friend. Also, my parents just bought a townhouse in Florida so I'll be visiting them in December, most likely.

TF in the USA is this week so I'm hoping we see some fresh pics of future Hobbit merchandise soon. The link I sent you last night was the closest I've come to it, minus what Idle Hands had shown us. I was relieved to see Gloin after not seeing him in those photos! I mean, creating all but one dwarf by this time would have been not cool. lol I'm looking forward to seeing what other heros and villains are in TBD's Wave 2 for The Hobbit! If you hear anything about preorders for the TBD lines, please keep me posted.

It was good. Went and saw that new Hansel and Grettel movie this weekend. It was fun. Pure cheese factor but it was fun. Then I watched all the walking dead episodes in order to have my memory refreshed for the new start to the second part of season 3.

Thanks! Its the best show on the planet IMO and I love going. It would be great if you could but I understand both of those reasons are good reasons to not be there. Maybe 2014?

Yeah, photos are starting to leak. It appears someone posted some here in another thread and it looks like we may be getting two versions of Azog with Arm and without. I did see Gloin in the major pack and I see he's in a two pack. So like you said glad to see we'll have all of them by the end of Wave 2. Looks like they're also going to be doing some 6" two packs as well. Also, I read the packaging will change as we go into movie two which is nice.

Will do. :)

Hooray for Both Arms!

Cool beans. I preordered Hansel and Grettel. I watched Hotel Transylvania, which was awesome! I also saw Ice Age 4, which was better than I imagined it to be. Still need to watch Frankenweenie and Seven Psychopaths. lol I started watching The Batman cartoon series. It is GREAT!

2014 - let us hope! lol I know it would be a worthwhile experience for me.

I viewed that link - the figures look AMAZING! Dori looks pretty tough. Actually, I thought most of the facial expressions captured the characters well. I saw three 2 packs of dwarves, but Bofur and Nori were missing. I wonder if they will be put into a 2 pack or beast packs separately. Either way, I can't wait to preorder all of the 3.75' line! Of course, the 6' versions of Azog and Radagast are on my list as well. The Warg and Azog beast pack is a must have, I'd say. The fact that wer get to own both of Azog's arms if we choose is OUTSTANDING!

Look Mom. Two Hands.

Yeah, I saw you could PO it already on Amazon. I guess they're not expecting a long run in the theater. lol HT looks like it should be a good movie. I'll have to check it out. Love the Ice Age movies so I'll check that one out for sure at somepoint.

Will keep the fingers crossed. :)

Yeah, I think they all look really good. I truly like every thing I saw from the pics we've seen so far. I would bet they're in a two pack but just not in one of the pictures we saw. They only showed one slightly good pick of the two packs and you could only make out the stuff in the back. Yeah, I will be PO several things again and am tempted to go back and get the 6" Legolas and Tauriel figures. The Azog beast pack is sweet and the option to display both is pretty sweet.

More 6" En Route

Amazon has The Hobbit on DVD listed, but unfortunately we can't actually order it until 02/26 - BUMMER! lol I was to see Oz The Great and Powerful along with Jack The Giant Slayer. Both of those seem like they're going to be pretty AWESOME!

No doubt many would think another 2 pack of dwarves would be appropriate, but Bofur and Nori don't exactly mesh together. lol I actually ordered the 6" versions of Bilbo, Gandalf, Legolas and Tauriel off of Amazon yesterday. Cost me around $65 for all 4, which I thought was fair.

When do you think we'll be able to PO Wave 2?

Five dollar footlong? lol

The title made me think of subway. lol Nice! I see they have the DVD and both vesions of the Blu-Ray listed as well. I will be ordering on the 26th then for sure. :rock Make sure you order right away so on March 24th you can have a code to get into the special DoS event. I plan to see both of those as well. I think I will take my mom to see Oz as she loves the Wizard of Oz.

It could be odd I suppose. I just want them. lol Nice! I have Bilbo and Gandalf already so I just need Legolas and Tauriel to complete those 4. That's not bad at all. I don't know how much you use Amazon but for $80 a year you get free two day shipping on anything with the prime service. Sometimes these toys fall under that. I may have asked you before but in my advanced age (31) I forget things. Tongue

I would think March/April most likely. Maybe as late as May.

The $5 footlong promo was pretty neat. I will be all over 02/26 and ordering The Hobbit DVD. What is the special DoS event? I don't have a Blu-Ray. Will I still get access to the event? Yea, I think many moms would be a fan of Oz.

Cool beans. Good hunting picking up the 2 elves! I use Amazon a lot and already have Amazon Prime, but thanks for mentioning it! I think I only paid $40 because I was a student when I subscribed and Amazon gave me a discount. You're not old! Think of what Gandalf or Yoda would say to that

My eyes and ears will be on the lookout come March and April then!

Oh yeah! Love me some subway. :) I hear ya! If you order the movie and I believe DVD counts as well you should get a special access code to watch some clips and be a part of a live event March 24th with Peter Jackson. Man, we need to get you a BR player. You can get them pretty darn cheap.

Thank ya! I think it should be easy enough to pick them up. At least I hope so. lol Sweet! That's an even better deal then. I pretty much order everything through them anymore as I dont pay tax or shipping. Its cheaper than driving to the local electronics store. Well, there are days I feel it for sure. Villains Needed

Happy Friday, Elessar! My paws are crossed that you too have a 3 day weekend!

What is supposed to happen at this event and where is it? Peter Jackson will be there? NICE! Yea, I know BR players are not that expensive, but then I'll have to buy so many new DVDs. lol I might invest in one though, eventually.

Ditto. Amazon ROCKS! You save gas, time, and (usually) money.

As far as I can tell, there are a lot of 2 packs coming out with basic figures in the 3.75" line, which I gladly welcome. However, we've only head of 1 beast pack and it's only for the 6" line. Plus, it appears as though we're a little short on villains for Wave 2. Who are the dwarves supposed to fight? lol

Enjoy your weekend!

3 Days off

Happy Friday to you as well! I do. I will be sleeping in on Monday. :)

Its supposed to be March 24th and it will be hosted on the internet someplace. There may be more info on the official The Hobbit movie website. I'd just rebuy the ones I really love as usually the BR players upgrade the DVD a bit.

I thought by the looks of things we were maybe getting a 6" Azog Beast Pack and a 3.75. Maybe it was just a 3.75 beast pack. I'm sure we'll get the Trolls but we may not see them until Comic-Con. We of course I'm sure will see some more orcs/goblins but the sad thing is we don't have a lot of bad guys.

Mine was good, thanks. My sister and her boyfriend visited me from Alaska. Hanging with them was AWESOME! We also celebrated one of my best friend's birthdays karaoke style. That was fun! I watched Man With the Iron Fists. It was pretty graphic and definitely not for kids. The acting was subpar, but the fighting was pretty solid. I also watched Frankenweenie. There are so many references to old horror movies and actors in there. I really enjoyed it!

For sure! I got mine online from TRU months ago and it ran me around $33 which included shipping. Being as they are in limited quantity, I predict that the value will increase over time. Though Bilbo is the main character, the Azog figure is pretty cool. I can't wait to see what accessories come with all of the dwarves in Wave 2! I know we can see some from the photos available, but there tend to be items that people miss now and then.

1 is the loneliest number

Good! Those both sound like good times. Are you from Alaska or did your sister move there? I remember thinking that would be very graphic and probably a rental at best. Frankenweenie I might see someday but I've lost 3 pets in the last year and so I've not seen it yet for that reason.

I agree. I do think overtime there will be a small increase at least in its value. Mine is still in the box. I've thought about buying another one to open but as of now I'm just leaving everything in the box so he'd be all alone if I did and opened it.

I am curious to see what the include but I imagine it will be much like wave one with just the basic stuff that the character had in the movie. I think the Azog figure looks sweet and I hope he also is the Comic-Con figure that way you can get both versions of the character if you choose to do so. I'm also hoping Weta will announce a statue for him at Comic-Con this year.

Nori Knives

My sister moved to Alaska to be with her boyfriend. He's in the Coast Guard. However, my parents, my sister, and her boyfriend will all be living in Florida at some point this there. Dude, I'm really sorry to hear about your pets. That's rough, but I'm sure you gave them great lives and they are all in a better place now.

Lonely is not good. lol I have several LOTR figures and box sets opened and unopened that I plan on passing those on to my hypothetical children someday along with all of The Hobbit figures I collect. The same goes for my SW figues and so on. Speaking of which, did you see or hear anything about new 3.75" CW figures for 2013? I saw pics of the 6" line, which I liked. Though, there were only a few figures announced.

I'm cool with the basics for Wave 2. I have high hopes for futures waves! I'd like to see 3.75" Nori with his knives. Weta made some pretty neat real ones. lol Having both versions of Azog would be GREAT! No doubt, he will have a marvelous statue if and when that it released.

Da future

Got ya. That's a good reason to move to Alaska but I'd take Florida over the cold of the North. Thanks. Yeah, It was rough but they're better off then when they left so it makes it easier. We tried to that's for sure.

No not good at all. Lol yeah, someday any kids are going to freak when they see all my stuff. Tongue I did not. I saw the 6" figures which looked cool but nothing else from SW.

I think future waves will expand in all area. Especially if each wave continues to grow in success. Yes, the Weta ones are freaking cool. I could see TBd doing some weapons like they did with Sting. Plus doing one as a sdcc ex (especially the one with two arms) would make sense. It allows people to skip something they don't want. He will make a fantastic statue,

We're off school now and may be tomorrow. We will be getting 8-15" of snow.

The Batman

Happy Friday, Elessar! Agreed. I've always wanted to visit Alaska, but I would take warmer weather over the cold to call home.

I hear that! lol The SW figures look great, but I feel like the CW series could bring so many figures to life. Season 4 was AMAZING! I'm not sure if Hasbro is slacking or if they are waiting to reveal these figures at the proper time.

That would be ideal. From what I see, there is not enough merchandise available right now to cover the extent of The Hobbit. We need more figures and beasts in both lines. How about a playset or 2? The statues are slowing coming along, and they look great, but this is an epic film. There is so much left to do!

Enjoy the snow days and the weekend! I started watching a series called, "The Batman." I bought the whole set, It's AWESOME!

Snow days

Happy Friday! Yes, warm > cold. :)

I would expect with Hasbro and the popularity of the show I'd say many more figure are to come. Probably just waiting for Toy Fair for some figures from SW and Comic-Con for others.

I agree. I'd love to see more but times flies I can assure you. It did with The Lord of the Rings. I think Wave 2 will have more especially once we get to comic-con. I don't think they showed everything at toy fair. They are I'm used to the pace after so many years. Lol that there is. :)

Will do. We were off Thursday and Friday after getting 10+ inches of snow. Nice! It's not one I'm familiar with.

Wave 2 - Wave 3

Hey, man! How was your weekend?

I hope you're right! It's really slow goings with the CW figures right now. I haven't seen any good ones in quite a while.

By the time Comic-Con comes around, do you think TBD will be on Wave 3? I thought Wave 2 was due to be released in the summer. Even that seems far.

Dude, The Batman is a GREAT series! It's got that old school feel of the Batman series from the 1990s, but the modern touch of the Batman Beyond series.

Snowed in

Not bad. Didn't do much because of the Snow. Did get out a little but for the most part just stayed in and watch movies.

If we don't see anything from Hasbro at comic-con then I'd be worried. I think there will be plenty.

I believe you might see some of Wave 3 if 2 has already landed in the early part of the summer.

Nice! Sounds like it might be pretty coool.

Be safe man. We're supposed to get another 15-20" of snow here in the Kansas City area.

The Hobbit DVD - MIA

That's cool. Watch anything good? I spent some solid time with my friends and family.

I sure hope you're right! I mean, there is nothing catching my interest for a pre order at the moment. Speaking of which, I thought The Hobbit was supposed to be available for pre order on DVD today, but I checked Amazon and it was not the case.

That would be cool!

Yea, the storyline is interesting as always. Yet, there are minor changes that I've seen so far that juice it up.

Whoa! Thanks for the heads up! You be safe too.

Up now

I rented Argo. Really good film. Ill be buying it soon.

Hopefully the wait will be worth it. It's up now. Cool so many cover choices I don't know what to do.

No problem. Thanks! We ended up with 13" officially. It didn't get quite as cold as they thought.

Argo - I heard it was pretty good. Is there a lot of action in that film?

Yes! I pre-ordered my copy later on yesterday. I went with the Two Disc Special Edition DVD + Ultraviolet Digital Copy. The movie will be released on 03/19, which is GREAT! I wish TBD was as fast as with their products. lol My dad didn't see the movie yet so I'm excited for him to check it out!

Not as cold is a plus. 13" - YOWSER! Bundle up and stay inside, unless you're a snowball fighting kind of warrior. lol

Nice! I have an order on Amazon but am going to get a copy from Wal-Mart to get the mini-3D poster. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing it again. :) Yes, sometimes it does seem nice to get products really quick. Nice! I hope he enjoys it.

Yeah, since last week we've gotten 25" of snow. A little is one thing but this is nuts. Lol

Mini 3-D BOO YA!

Cool beans. Maybe I will check Argo out then. Thanks!

Mini 3-D Poster - NICE! My dad loved the LOTR films so I know he's going to dig The Hobbit. I can't wait to watch the movie with him!

25" of snow! That's a bit excessive. lol

I read that Yazneg and Radagast are supposedly coming in the fall. Wave 2 better get here before then! lol If TBD is to make this wave available by summer 2013 via the rumors I have heard, the pre orders should be coming soon.

On a side note, I was able to get hold of a Captain Rex figure from Canada that was part of a canceled CW wave. I'm psyched! lol

3D Boom!

Cool! Its worth seeing for sure. I walked away very impressed with it.

Yeah! The digibook is cool enough but I love those posters and when they had them I was like that is my main purchase. Now, I will get one of the other regular covers so I don't tear up the digibook cover. Enjoy! As we discussed my parents go with me to see these and I love it.

Yes it is. lol I'm so ready for spring and summer. Its cold and fairly miserable around here right now

That is the info we got last night and posted to the article. I'm hoping Wave 2 might at worst be split into halves with some of it this summer and then in the fall. Maybe even seeing some of wave 3 this summer as well. I would expect PO fairly soon as well

Nice score! Cool

Happy Friday, Elessar!

Sounds you are "Mount Dooming" quite the collection of posters over there. lol You'll have to send me a pic when you can. Thanks!

Ditto. I'm done with this cold for now.

My paws are crossed that you're right on that, man. I mean, the last Wave came out 5 months ago. Plus, this is The Hobbit, the prelude to the LOTR trilogy. There is so much to create a produce. The merchandise should be coming out at a faster pace.

Yea, I'm psyched! Rex is one of my favorite characters from the CW series. Do you have a favorite?

Enjoy the weekend!

Doom on you. Doom on you

Mount Dooming made me think of Ice Age and the DoDo that said Doom on You. lol

Happy Friday to you as well. Cool

Gonna try. Thankfully there are only three and its just a matter of hoping to find them on ebay or friends that don't want them. Will do! I will take a pic of Gandalf this weekend and post it.

Yeah, we need some more stuff out there. If nothing else than to keep the ball rolling and people happy about the momentum of the collection. So I agree with you. I also agree because of my love for Middle-earth and seeing stuff out there makes me happy.

I dig Rex. I have Sideshow's 1:6th Rex and its one of the best in that line. Of the CW series? I like al the clone designs but Obi-Wan is one of my favroites just because I really like the character. I also love Darth Maul as we've discussed and I like Anakin as well.

Ice Age - such a GREAT film series! I actually want to see Oz; The Great and Powerful and Jack the Giant Slayer. Not sure if I'll hit the theater or just wait for them to come out on DVD. How was your weekend, man?

Thanks! Sounds good.

Ditto. I mean, we need some more official photos and information on these items. The shots taken from Toy Fair definitely lift momentum, but the lack of release dates and not being to pre order anything is kind of a buzz kill. TBD should start promoting to the public and distributors.

Nice! I feel like Rex is the icon for the CW series. I'm really curious to the fate of his character, along with that of Ahsoka Tano. Obi-Wan is a FANTASTIC character! I always enjoy the witty banter that goes on between him and Anakin.

Yeah, I dig those films. Silly and fun which is a nice break of some of the many things most of us watch. I saw Jack this weekend and it was pretty fun. It was nothing that will set the world on fire but it was a fun film. Going to see Oz this weekend and will take my folks since my Dad is interested and my Mom loves the Wizard of Oz. It was good. Went by quick as usual. Yours?

Took a pick. Just have to post it.

Turning up the heat now with the BR about to land would be great timing and give a nice pick me up.

I am curious to see what happens to some of these guys/gals as well. I mean we know they're not in Episodes 3-6. So what happened to them? That is something I'd be curious to find out. The relationship between him and Anakin in this series and in the movies is what really helps the PT era stuff.

Battle Beasts ar Back!

That's for sure. Cool beans on Jack. I guess I should say, "Magic Beans"? lol Let me know how you like Oz. I'm not sure if I'll be going to the theater for that, or just wait until it comes out on DVD.

My weekend was fun, thanks! A friend and I met up with my parents in Atlantic City. We did some solid shipping and ate like the place was going out fo business. No pun intended there. My dad auctioned off a few cars in the Car Show too, which was neat!

Speaking of pick me ups, do you remember Battle Beasts from Hasbro? You may have had some when you were a kid. Well, Minimates brought them back! They're not the same, but they look GREAT! I picked up the TRU exclusive line off of Ebay yesterday.

Rex came in the mail, btw. He looks AWESOME! lol

Me too. They may all perish in battle, or at the hands of Anakin or some other villain, sad as it sounds. One alternative is that Rex lives out the rest of his life serving the Grand Army of the Republic. Ahsoka may escape and go into hiding.

Good! Sounds like a fun time. I bet there are some good food there for folks to eat. Did you all do any wagering of money? Did he auction them himself or does he just put them in and let someone else sell them?

Where those the ones with the thing on their waists that you rubbed and the hologram glowed?

Sweet!! Cool

This is why I'm glad Disney has it and may do more films. If done right they can really add to the SW saga and make it even cooler.

Creativity Points

The food at the casinos in AC is top notch! We got down on Alaskan King Crabs Legs, tons of desserts, Pork Rolls with Eggs and Cheese, etc. My dad enters his cars with a dealer. He does get to drive them up on to the stage, but the dealer auctions them off. It's pretty cool!

I don't remember the rings, but the original figures did have holograms on them. You can Google "Antalor" if you want to check out what the new Battle Beasts look like. I actually ordered Volume 1 of the comic series yesterday on Amazon. Looking fwd to reading that when it arrives!

Agreed. I wonder what Disney is going to do for Episodes 7, 8, and 9? Still, I have faith and am very excited! I kind of like the CW because they were able to make up brand new, never before seen characters, galaxies, etc. The creativity is awesome!

Speaking of movies, Argo and Wreck it Ralph arrived in the mail yesterday so I should be watching those over the weekend.

Mar 6 2013, 1:58pm

Yeah, food at the Casinos can be really good. Sounds like you have some great choices for sure. Can't talk too much or I'll get hungry and its too early to get hungry. lol

That's what I thought. I had a few of those as a kid. I didn't know they were bringing them back. That's awesome! I never even knew about a comic series either but I think I was long past those figures at anypoint with them doing comics on them.

That's a good question. It sounds like the original cast is going to come back and be in a mentor roll. So I'd say the main characters will be their kids or something like that. Is an intersting take and allows for SW to continue on and not try recasting roles. I agree on the CW. It has allowed SW to become a depper universe which I think its better for.

Nice! Argo is awesome! I still need to see Ralph but I think I will end up liking it from what I've seen.

From Batman to Birdman

If that's the case, I won't go into too many details about the

Yea, they were and still are really cool! I actually showed my parents the newer versions of the figures I ordered. My mom vaguely remembered them, but my dad was all over it! lol I found an AWESOME figure of The Dark Knight Returns online! Mattel did a nice job on this one. I ordered mine off of BBTS yesterday. Did you see the cartoon movies? They were very interesting. It definitely puts a twist on Batman in his old age.

Regarding Batman, I read that Michael Keaton is supposed to play Birdman in the upcoming film. I have no idea how that is going to go, but I am super excited to see (who was in my opinion) the best Batman be the superhero once again!

I'm glad that the old cast is coming back for the new SW films. Seeing Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill on screen together again in these particular roles is PHENOMINAL! Of course, I'm looking fwd to all of the merchandise that will follow these epic movies as well.

From the pics I saw, it looks like Bofur and Nori will be sold individually and not as a 2 pack. It's not a big deal, but I thought that was a bit odd.

To Infinity and Beyond

For some reason that's how I read Batman and Birdman or what it made me think of. lol

Good idea! lol I always read these well before its time for me to eat.

That's awesome! Its always fun when you're folks are into or find what you're into cool. It for me helps make my love for Middle-earth even deeper. Sweet! What figure was it? I've not seen any of them to be honest. I've read posts about that some of them are really good and in someways if Nolan was going to do some of the things he did he should have follwed these cartoons.

Interesting. I've not seen that. I still to this day enjoy watching that version of Batman. Its a little more comic book cheese than Nolan's films but I at times think its closer to what Batman should be in a movie.

It is cool. I saw that Fischer is coming back now as well. So its going to be intersting to see the whole gang back together. As I said its the thing I'm most intrigued by. The merchandise is going to be crazier than we've ever seen before.

That would be odd if all the others are in two packs. I'd bet by the time we get to Comic-Con we'll see them in a 2 pack.

Buzz Lightyear!

Happy Friday, Elessar! Fair enough. lol I have the Buzz Lightyear cartoon series on DVD. It's AWESOME!

Good to know. lol

True story. If you look up "Batman Unlimited Dark Knight Returns Collector Action Figure" on Amazon, you can see the figure I was referencing. Mattel makes this figure and I think they did a fabulous job! Yea, I wish Nolan would have followed the cartoons a bit more as well. There is a rumor going around that Christian Bale might play Batman in the JL movie coming out. I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be a better choice if they wanted to stick to the storyline. Plus, it's nice to think that Bruce Wayne finally retired, got married, and possibly started a family somewhere.

Michael Keaton was a GREAT Batman! I really enjoyed Batman and Batman Returns. I wasn't too crazy about Batman Forever and Batman and Robin though. Kilmer and Clooney were subpar as the Caped Crusader in my book. The villains were played by solid actors, but the characters weren't that good.

Carrie Fisher is coming back? OUTSTANDING! They made a CW cartoon movie a few years back. It was pretty entertaining.

A 2 pack would be neat! I would really like to have seen a 3 pack for Dori, Nori, and Ori and another for Bombur, Bofur, and Bifur.

Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Friday 2 U :)

Happy Friday 2 U as well. Cool Cool! I did not know they made that.

I'll have to check that out in a bit on my phone just to see what it looks like. I saw that Bale may be coming back which makes sense in a way that he would be Batman in the JL movie since we don't know for sure if JGL would be Batman or Nightwing. I guess. I'm more of the mind that I like BW being Batman and always being Batman. Its cool to have someone come in and maybe give a break for a while but as a whole I prefer the former way of things being that way.

Yeah, after those first two they really went downhill. I think people at that point were really just cashing in on making a Batman movie. So the writing and the effort in it as a whole just wasn't what it needed to be.

That's what I've read. So it should be intersting to see now where they go with this. The CW movie that was in the theatres? I saw that one. I enjoyed it.

That would have been cool as well. Of course if you're late to the game you can get the whole traveling company pack thats coming out for $80. lol

Game of Thrones

Ty! How was your weekend? Yea, the Buzz Lightyear series was GREAT!

For several reasons, I could see JGL being a better Nightwing than Batman at this point. As much as I like Bruce playing Batman, I did enjoy Terry McGinnis taking on the Dark Knight's role. If we follow the films, there are those select few that now know of Batman's true identity. Granted, they are trustworthy, it is still a complication. Plus, what will be the story behind Bruce and Selena? They were together. Did they part separate ways as friends or enemies?

The CW movie in theaters was the one I was referencing. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I recently started watching Game of Thrones. That is a really intense show! Do you follow that story? Reminds me of LOTR a bit.

$80 is steep, but it might be worth it in the end depending on how much the additional figures I need will cost me. As for right now, I would just like to see a pre order available...somewhere! lol

Winter is coming

It was good. As always not long enough especially when losing an hour but it was good.

Yeah, if they continue this Batman Universe going into the JL film and coming out of it they've got some questions to answer. That or they will just have to ignore some of it and move on pretending it didn't happen/

Thought so but I wanted to make sure. It was good. Maybe not as good as the series as a whole but I enjoyed it.

Nice! Yeah, I've been watching that show since it started. I didn't care for how season one ended but I haven't read the books so I didn't know about a few things. It can be and season two got a bit more that way than one. I don't know if I thought season two as a whole was better though to be honest but season 3 coming up looks to be really good. It does have a tiny feel like that but I think its due to the author borrowing that feel.

Its not cheap but its probably cheaper than buying them all individually. lol I'm with ya for sure.

Winter is Here!

Glad to hear that. I watched Wreck It Ralph, Argo, and The Amazing Spiderman with my parents. All of them were GREAT! I saw Oz with some friends. I liked it, but I think it could have been better. The visuals were cool, but the acting was satisfactory, the storyline was ok, and the climax was kind of weak.

True. I get annoyed when the writers ignore the current story and leave so many questions unanswered. People want to believe the tale, not be confused about it. I know it's a long shot, but I would like to see Michael Caine as Alfred again. He was AWESOME! Morgan Freeman was a solid Lucius Fox too. He's actually in a few new movies coming out this year.

Cool beans. I can't wait for CW Season 5 to come out on DVD! Ok, I at least want to see the pre order available soon. lol

Game of Thrones is a pretty exciting show! I only watched 3 episodes so far, but I am very curious to see how it all pans out. I like Eddard Stark, Tyrron Lannister, and John Snow so far. Still, I know there is a lot of deceit and villainy in this so my choices may change.

Nice! Will have to check out Raplh soon. Glad you enjoyed Argo. Cool Oz was ok. Nothing special but not the worse thing I've seen. Oz the character was just so darn unlikeable for the first 1/3 of the movie or so and even after wasn't that likeable. I'd agree with your thoughts though on the movie as a whole.

Yeah, leaving loopholes can be very annoying. It happens all the time in TV shows before they go off the air if they've been on for a long time especially. I'd like to see both those guys come back as I thought they did a fine job in their roles the first time around.

Yeah, I will be getting it as well. Sadly there will be no season 6. I don't know if you saw but the show got the axe by Disney. They will eventually put out some stuff to tie up all the lines but for now it ends where season 5 ended. Pretty lame IMO. Typical for the SW Universe as a whole it seems like.

I agree. It has its moments where it has too much sex to be honest and loses the story but as a whole the rest of it is pretty darn good. Just wait until you get to the end of season one. I will be curious to see what you think.

Filoni's Words

I agree. James Franco is such a GREAT actor, but the writers made the character out to be so deceiving and semi-evil. Sure, he finds his true self by the end of the film and saves the day thanks to the help of his companions. Yet, I would have preferred an alternate tale; Oz could have had little recollection of his past. Then, he finds out he was the son of a great wizard. BOOM - he has magic in his blood and learns how to harness it. I like that version. lol Plus, the end of the movie could have had a much better final battle scene that way. The people of Oz not being able to fight didn't do much to aid in that cause either.

Yea, I read about CW winding down - BUMMER! I watched a video where Filoni said that he's going to answer many of the questions that are still floating around via story arcs (might be miniseries, tv movies, DVDs, etc). The clip also included a scene from what I think was a future episode. There is a spoiler, but I included the link below in case you wanted to see it. By the end of these stories, I want to know what happens to Rex, Ahsoka, Ventress, and many others. I'd hope that Hasbro releases figures based off of these story arcs. We could sure use some fresh items in the action figure line there.

Game of Thrones is getting better and better! I finished episode 4 last night. Lady Stark captures Tyrion, Eddard Stark finds King Robert's "other son," Jon Snow befriends Sam, and I met The Mountain. That guy is pretty wicked from the history that Little Finger provided about him and The Hound.

He's alright. I enjoy some things he's in and sometimes I don't. I think he could have been really good in this but the way his character was written wasn't the best IMO. That sounds pretty interesting and could lead to some other paths that didn't make him come across like such a douche.

I wondered if you had. I saw that video yesterday so it sounds like we may at least get the loose ends tied up. Which is better than just leaving everyone whose put time into watching this left holding the bag. Its the right thing to do I think.

Just wait until the end of the season. lol
