Sounds like...(see inside)

First syllable, sounds like -- points to cut on forehead
Second syllable, sounds like -- points to back of leg
Third syllable, sounds like -- points to right eye
Fourth syllable, sounds like -- points to stomach
Fifth syllable, sounds like -- points to cup on table
Sixth syllable, sounds like -- points to left eye
Seventh syllable, sounds like -- acts like he's going to throw up

(Ok, that's two more syllables than he had fingers, but the guy's not exactly operating on all thrusters...)

*scratches head* is Bifur thinking of one 7-syllable word?

And is it in Khuzdul? Or would Bifur's house rules cover "Westron"?Crazy

no, but he did sort of confuse syllabels with words...

As in the charade answer is a seven word sentence -- poor Bifur, he needs a better charade coach than me.

Sorry for being confusing. It's not that hard once you know it's a sentence and not a word. (Hope you did not spend too many hours looking up Khuzdul words -- the answer is plain old English! )

*thinks real hard*

cut on forehead--ax?
back of leg--calf
right eye--I
stomach--gut?
cup on table--mug?
left eye--I
throw up--barf, puke, hurl

Ask if I got mug I hurl...

Ask if I got m'girl??

ha, you are close...!

Come up with another word for #7 and you must might get it...!

The answer is a variation on a movie quote that's repeated more than once, if that helps! and it's a question, rather than a sentence, actually...

("calf I gut" is right...the others are close...)

"cup" = "tin"?

good grief, I would never have been able to figure that out! Even if my head weren't aching so.

I'm glad there are some who were smart enough to get the puzzle.

ha, that's good and very close to the final answer!

As in, it's a variation on the "what have I got in my pocket" question, but one that fits the Bifur photo a bit better, which this all started with.

This part of the question -- "What have I got" -- is correct

But in this part of the question -- "In my pocket?" -- "my" is correct, but "in" and "pocket" are not!

So you need to come up with : ___ my ____ ?

Take another look at the photo and then try a different word for "throw up" and you'll get it -- though vomit/pocket was a pretty good association, to be honest, one I did not think of!

Let me know how many brain cells you donated to this one and I'll send you some of mine to pay you back! :)

you could make a regular thing of this

"Bifur's Charades" or something like that. You could combine verbally described clues with illustrative screencaps, showing Bifur doing something, like you did here. Not necessarily just Bifur, but somebody doing something that could be a charades hint. The answer should be something Tolkien or topical variations thereof, depending on the chosen theme or occasion.

*munch munch* thanks for the baked goods! I won't toss these cookies, I guarantee it Smile

I was actually thinking the same thing...

..we've done trivia and other games, but never charades. I do like Bifur's Charades as a title, since he's kind of the poster child for the strong and silent type (!) though there could be other guest hosts or players..

Might be a fun thing to do on the Hobbit Board once the excitement dies down from the first film, and screencaps are more readily available...hmm...

I'm game if you are! And we could invite ryouku (I am sure I spelled that wrong) to join us in coming up with the first round!
