Altered EE

cartermoulton Bree Dec 23 2012, 7:38pm Views: 860 Altered EE HI, is there a list somewhere where I can find the scenes that have been altered/removed for the extended editions? For instance, are there moments that are in the theatrical cut but were removed/changed for the extended editions? I'm watching the theatrical FOTR on TNT right now and am noticing a few things that I can't recall after watching the EE for so long. Just wondered if there is an existing list of these moments?

I noticed it when I was studying the music. Gandalf and Frodo riding through the Shire is different because it's just them speaking without any of Bilbo's voice over. 2. There's a shot of Frodo and Sam at a campfire that was replaced with a different version for the whole scene with the elves going off to the Grey Havens. 3. There's some dialogue with Haldir that was taken out because of the added scene that develops the difficulty getting into Lothlorien. 4. There's a shot of a group of uruk-hai that was taken out when Saruman says "we have only to remove those who oppose us..." 5. Gandalf saying "he (Saruman) has no power any more." 6. There's an alternate shot of Gandalf looking at Aragorn before he charges and says "for Frodo." In the extended cut Gandalf holds up Frodo's mithril shirt.

Buy the extended editions(probably from Amazon because the stores don't have them) and inside the DVD boxed set is a booklet with a scene list. The extended scenes have two asterisks ** and new scenes have one asterisk *. That's my advice anyway. Good luck!

MorgolKing Rivendell Jan 7 2013, 6:30pm Views: 283 Yeah I've done a bunch of searching too and can't find a comprehensive list of scenes or lines that were originally in the movies but taken out of the EE. Would really like to get hands on such a list.
